Err, I'm not being hilarious but where's Shami? Siraj? Bumrah? Ishant at least? We're not gonna bowl anyone out. You need to bowl teams out, most of the time. Nobody's taking this seriously. I really hope we win the toss because scoreboard pressure may be our best bowler. Going for two declarations again, worked last time

100 for Alsop.
What a signing this lad has turned out to be.

It ain't working this time. Scorebeard pressure might work though. These tracks we keep producing are horrendous for the game. Basically, if we'd have won the toss and bat every home game, we'd be near the top now. We could win this game, batting first means we almost definitely won't lose. As it would have for Leics. I see Umesh Yadav has signed for the Middle. He'd have helped on the Hove road. Question, should a physio be able to recognise a broken hand? I'm pretty sure they should. Ours sent Haines back out to bat. Is he one of Greenfield's appointments?

Tom Haines going through that difficult second album period. What a pity. Pujara was put to shame today. Just 46 runs when 3 other Sussex batsmen scored more. Onward to 500+ and a declaration. At 4.2 runs an over, this should be achieved by tomorrow lunchtime. The match is rapidly moving on.

Tremendous batting from Alsop, Carter, we don't need Kent reserve keeper Ollie Robinson better to spend it on an overseas bowler, and Orr. Devastating news about Haines with the top two to play away in the next two games. I suspect it will be Orr, Alsop, Clarke, Pujara, Carter and Hudson-Prentice as the top six.
The problem is three sides have managed big fourth day scores ay Hove so far this season so knowing when to declare will be really tough. We also have a bowling attack which has struggled to take twenty wickets.

A great days cricket shame about Haines but batting wise think we have enough. Push on to 500 plus then see what the bowlers can give us ,we manage to bowl them out twice it will be or could be a turning point for these young players confidence.

Tom Haines out for 5-6 weeks with a broken bone in his hand. This is where the sub rule is stupid, if he managed to pick up Covid whilst going to hospital he could be replaced.
Wish him a speedy recovery and back for the end of the season.

100 for Alsop. What a signing this lad has turned out to be. Best humble pie ive ever tasted. I got this one wrong. Credit to the coaches for getting his batting firing. Horrible for Haines and just adds to the relentless bad luck weve had this season with injuries, i dont think weve once had our strongest 11 out this year.

Sussex 588 all out with a bit of swing in the air and still 47 overs left in the day, but... do we have the ability to bowl Leicestershire out twice? PS: Wow, what a start. Finn gets Azad out first ball. Leic 0-1.
