Sussex 588 all out with a bit of swing in the air and still 47 overs left in the day, but... do we have the ability to bowl Leicestershire out twice? PS: Wow, what a start. Finn gets Azad out first ball. Leic 0-1. With the two currently batting not having a first class century between them and only two of their batters with a first class average of over 38 (one of them already out) then we are not going to get many better opportunities of taking twenty wickets.

I reckon Crocombe has had more catches dropped off his bowling than anyone else this season.
Perhaps another factor, albeit minor in comparison to the overall strength of our bowling attack as to why we struggle to bowl sides out.
How costly will dropping Kimber prove?

How predictable. Anybody like predictable sport? Didn't think so. Horrific Hove tracks all season, and all with the lamest bowling attack in county cricket. We don't even try to win under this management. Is it fixable? Easily. Do they wanna fix it? No.
Wake me up when the season's done so I can tune in to celebrate the new management.

Another game on a road of a pitch. I have seen more life in a corpse! Pitch needs to be dug up and re-laid! It needs resuscitating! Very poor cricket wicket which will drive fans away from the county game. Snore fest!
I feel sorry for our bowlers. They don't stand a chance. Why can other counties produce proper cricket pitches but we cannot? The pitches this season has been a joke. The only reason there was a result last time is because Derbyshire f***ed up!

Who was the bloke fielding fine leg to fine leg in pads yesterday? I was exhausted just watching him!

Let's hope we can keep hold of Flower. Our batting has really improved under his expert eye. Brilliant for the younger pros. But what about the bowling? It's not easy on these wickets, but I don't see great improvement. Bowling lots of dot balls gets wickets. We should be able to do this. We should have got a proper replacement for Carson. If Kirtley is the fast bowling coach then he needs to do better.

Aaaaah, Finn delivers up a rubbish ball in his first over. Easy 4. This is our problem. If Leicester bat all day and tomorrow morning, it could be an awkward last day batting session for Sussex. More dot balls please

Not easy bowling dot balls out there, the game has changed and theres so much more intent now. This is a used pitch too and its still like batting on glass.

If Kirtley is the fast bowling coach then he needs to do better. I see Amar Virdi Sponge, the Surrey spinner is now on loan at Somerset. I mentioned him as a possibility on another thread earlier in the season. Rawlins and Coles are doing their best, but I am sure a front line spinner with Virdi's ability and experience would have been a good temporary fix in the absence of Carson and given us an extra edge. On our doorstep aswell. The real question given these flat wickets is have our batters improved as much as we believe and is our bowling attack as toothless as it appears. I suspect we will only really be able to answer those questions when we play on wickets that offer much more to the bowling attack. I also think you are right on the dot balls. Finn looked really good this morning, primarily in my humble opinion because he bowled at the stumps and made the batter play. Too often this season, the bowlers seem to be bowling outside the off stump, short or offering up loose deliveries making it easier for the batter. I also like the way Finn is captaining, shuffling the bowling and mixing things up. A bit more imaginative than what we have previously seen in similar circumstances this season. Would like to see Clark given a go though.

We havent got Amar Virdi he isnt our player but we have 2 spin bowling options. Rawlins is improving by bowling more overs. Give our players first chance. Our batting is much improved as expected with batters gaining experience. We still have a near full bowling attack out injured and thats a huge issue.
