Alsop in for Ibrahim the only change.
Middlesex have won the toss and bowl first.

After only a couple of overs, my least favourite and the most irritating myopic commentator from Middlesex is already having the equivalent effect of someone scraping a chalkboard with their finger nails.
Any chance someone could disconnect his microphone?

What a joke, the umpires trying to take the teams off with Sussex 265/2 after 40 overs saying the light is bad. Luckily they have seen sense and called the players back after Pujara made his feelings known to the umpires. Last 10 overs now, let's go Sussex!!

and now Middlesex have dropped Pujara - probably because of the bad light.....

The 397-5 against Somerset was a great effort, but has to be put into context. We were playing a severely weakened opposition with a very weak bowling attack.
Not so today. That was as clinical, professional, brutal and well constructed innings as you could have hoped to see against a very decent bowling attack. Yes they were missing a few, but Murtagh, Walallawita, Andersson and even Holman are no mugs.
The beauty is if Orr doesn't get you, we have Clark, Alsop, Rawlins all equally capable of doing the business, not forgetting the ever dependable Pujara.
That is probably 70 runs more than we would have taken at the start. We couldn't have asked to be in a better position. If Middlesex chase it down then fair play, but it will have to be a remarkable run chase.
Finally, evidence if it were ever needed as to why Carter should have been playing from the start of the tournament. Yes, only a cameo, but his four off the final ball of the 37th over. Genius!!

Brilliant from Sussex hope you win the tournament.
Is Pujara around for the semi finals and final? I noticed the Asia Cup is starting soon and wondered if he is in the India squad.

Combined margin of victory of 358 runs over the last two games. Pinch me, am I dreaming?

Another clinical performance with bat and ball against a fairly strong Middlesex side. We’re on an upward trajectory, great to see.
Top of the group and a home semi final next Tuesday 30th.

Well done Sussex. Put Middlesex to the sword. Good to see Alsop and Pujara in the runs. Big bonus, Hudson-Prentice back bowling. It all seems to be coming together.

Wonderful and comprehensive performance - can’t get much better than that. The two top sides meeting in an all or nothing clash and Sussex delivering in some style. Wonderful spell from Hudson-Prentice looked sharp and accurate. Crocombe also looked very good and our new ball bowlers doing the job again. Well played Sussex - we are off to the Semi’s!! That’s Alsop Folks 😂
