Orr Alsop Clark Pujara* Ward Carter+ Rawlins Ibrahim Karvelas Coles Currie Hunt. Nice try but you cannot play twelve. I think Carter should keep wicket and Alsop should open. I would leave out Coles from your above twelve. Ah yes ooops! I’d leave out Hunt.

Based on Kirtley's comments in match day centre on website, I would guess at 1 change for today's game; Hunt for Crocombe. Interesting that after Salisbury's strange interview after the Notts defeat, he has been very quiet. Lots of positives since then. Has he been gagged?

We should wipe the floor with that. We have a real chance in this comp cos everyone else has been decimated - again, a damning indictment of our season. Steve will be quaking in his gold plated posh chav boots.

Surrey win the toss and bowl first.
Coles comes in for Lenham.

What do I know. Coles in for Lenham; otherwise the same lineup as Warks.

It will be interesting to see how Gumbs and the youngsters get on. Hope you get to the quarter finals.

You got the one change bit right Sponge-pants. Right change for now.
Think this is the right team. Shame we can't get Juice in but really like six bowling options if you have 3 all-rounders at 6,7 & 8 that can clear the rope & bowl tidily. That's the dream balance for all sides in one-day cricket. Stick Garton & H-P in the mix & we're really getting there with that.
Ward I guess needs a score.

Orr and Ward gone early doors.
Ward playing like Delray of old, trying to hit the leather off the ball.

Don't underestimate the Surrey young guns Liquid. Poor start from Sussex. Kamikaze batting from Ward. No respect for the bowling.Brainless. Orr a bit unlucky; but difficult to shine in every game. Live stream commentators going on and on about Pujara. Good cricketer; crap captain.

Alright, Carter for Ward, Clarke opens, Alsop 3. Never been convinced by Ward but he has got a few fast starts. Carter should be in at the end of the day. Orr scores a lot of sixes with that shot but not today.
Livestream's pants at Sussex, can't even time a replay right so I'm off out to get some sun. Better be 250-2/3 when I get back cos this is boys against... slightly older boys. And Pujara.
Night night.

Ward has something about him, hits the ball hard and plays some nice shots. But not only is that five innings now in which he is the only one in the top seven not to get past fifty, it was I suggest obvious even before the competition started that Carter is the better batter. Add to the mix we aren't getting the best out of Alsop by listing him at five. We can only surmise what the outcome of the last match against Warwickshire would have been if he had come in earlier. On another topic, Pujara is such a class act. He just drops anchor and potters along at around a run every two balls and then before you realise he just effortlessly accelerates and his score rate has doubled. Fantastic signing.

Well batted Clarke and Pujara. Very good effort. Should have enough 378 to beat Surrey.

In the bag. Looking at the format of this comp has confused me but given the circumstances of all teams I've seen anything short of a final will be an under achievement in this thing as far as I'm concerned. Dunno why they don't just say top 4 each group is in the QFs. Frigging idiots.
Is this Pujara guy any relative of the Pujara who has nearly lost his place in the India test side for batting too slow? Must fancy a lucrative IPL contract. What a season. And Clark too, what a breakthrough. Patience & perseverance are the key to youth success. Clark wasn't really anywhere at 20 but he's definitely somewhere at 21.
We have Haines to come in too as well as Carter. Looking good.

This is what we’ve been waiting for, a complete performance.
Pujara, next level. Clark fantastic, Karvelas what a find and Delray showing consistency.
Coles well ahead of Lenham in control and wicket taking.
GOSBTS!
