How did Coles get in ahead of Rawlins? Bowling looks light but nice to see Carson back Would have preferred us to save pennies and not sign an O/S player if we have Rawlins on the bench

Orr and Alsop gone early.

AGH! A lot of C's in the team today. And I thought they were all in the office.
These boys are in danger of losing their cool nicknames.

Surprised Rawlins not started great to see Hudson prentice at the crease also surprised we won the toss and chose to bat. Found out salsbury put on gardening leave.

What do you mean by ‘gardening leave’? In my experience Joe 'gardening leave' is where someone is still receiving full pay and is not required or has been requested not to attend work. It can be a neutral act that infers no fault. The dictionary definition... an employee's suspension from work on full pay for the duration of a notice period, typically to prevent them from having any further influence on the organization or from accessing confidential information. It could just as equally be a health or personal issue. If it is, I hope the guy is ok and getting any support he needs. Again in my experience, whatever the reason and it is very dangerous to speculate, more often than not it is a precursor to the individual leaving their employment.

I think we would have probably all took that at 23-5. Well played and good recovery from Hudson-Prentice, Coles and Carson. The thing I like about this team this season is we don't roll over quite the same as in the past. Last season, I am not convinced we would have got anywhere close to that score. I still have a feeling we are undercooked though by quite a few runs.

Oh dear. Was our new ball not as talkative as theirs? Big effort tomorrow morning. Pretty surprised & baffled that Currie didn't open the bowling. Has he not been doing that this whole time he's impressed?
On Rawlins or Coles, Coles started the last game, Rawlins the one before that, both the one before that. Neither did anything with the ball - they are part time spinners & actual batters, especially in the longer form. So take ya pick.
Gardening leave means finished, for whatever reason. As Devon says, hopefully he's alright. Pretty sure he won't be back though.
