What do you mean by ‘gardening leave’? In my experience Joe 'gardening leave' is where someone is still receiving full pay and is not required or has been requested not to attend work. It can be a neutral act that infers no fault. The dictionary definition... an employee's suspension from work on full pay for the duration of a notice period, typically to prevent them from having any further influence on the organization or from accessing confidential information. It could just as equally be a health or personal issue. If it is, I hope the guy is ok and getting any support he needs. Again in my experience, whatever the reason and it is very dangerous to speculate, more often than not it is a precursor to the individual leaving their employment. that's how I understand it as well and has happened according to someone I was chatting to at the forum. On the furom I asked the question directly to Andrew and it wasn't awnsered it was waffle from the chairman with Andrew blanking my question. Which was ,if Andrew selected the coaches in a rugby club and only won 2 games in 2 years would they still be in a job?

Why are our fielding positions so defensive? We need to take wickets!!!!

Normal service resumes. Good to see Carson back in the fold though with a nifty 50 yesterday.

Usual Hove flatty & poor top order showing, or blunt attack? I'd like to know why Currie didn't open the bowling yesterday - got a contract off of it, was Haines not watching while he was out?
Gonna need a top 2nd innings display from these lads to salvage a draw.

We are going to need a top batting performance alright,as Carson aside rubbish bowling performance including the O/S player ashreef who has looked not good at all.

Having been absolute rubbish in the first innings Orr, Haines, Alsop, Clark and Carter will need to bat much better second time around.
With the exception of Carson, the bowling has been absolute rubbish.

I know our batting has improved a lot this season but I wonder if Pujara holds them together. Would two overseas quicks mean that our batting is more likely to fold? Never easy, is it?

I think bringing Pujara back next season as captain in the Championship is a must. Hopefully Karvelas will be English qualified by then so that we can use the other O/S slot for a quick.

Yep, agree with your questioning, a reminder that our batting - without overseas reinforcements - isn’t as strong as we’d thought it might be, not to mention a bit short in numbers.

The key to our batting is keeping Grant Flower. The younger lads will keep improving under his expert eye.

For anyone at the ground at the moment, what are the odds of getting some play today? I understand the forecast is meant to improve, but I don't want to make the journey there to sit through numerous inspections!

Ashraf bowling rubbish. Why haven't Currie or Crocombe been given the new ball? Any why didnt Currie open the bowling. He's been good, why change it. More confused thinking. I despair.
