A draw when you were resigned to defeat always feels like a victory (although I’ve never been able to convince an American of this)!
As for the Yorkshire job, they may be glad to take anyone willing to do it :-)

Some good positives from this draw. Gutsy batting, with another good knock from Alsop. I still worry about our bowling; Carson did well on his return. The rain saved us, bad luck for Worcs. This team could go far (all formats) as long as Kirtley and co don't ruin it.

Jesus, Allah, Buddha, any one of you will do, please make Yorkshire take Andrew with your almighty wrath. Or whatever it is. A Wrath, a net, a taxi, just take him. I'll go halves with ya on the cost, Lord.
I knew we'd draw this game. That's cos despite the 1st dig, & despite missing Pujara, we have a very strong batting line-up in this division. We also play at bore-fest Hove where even Ash could score a ton.
Well done indeed to Alsop, & Orr, Juice & Clark. They've all been brilliant all season. I'm particularly pleased for Clark this year myself, he was highly thought of but probably nearly fell by the wayside after a few years of not a lot. Looks the real deal to me. I guess Sussex must have believed though so credit for that. That's the way it should be with all of them, don't judge at 19/20.
I read summin about Zum Devon, the complaint, missing players, then the finances. They may have been more about the schedule though, I can't remember. Although would a full strength side mean all quarters full rather than just 3? Strauss' schedule is without domestic clashes isn't it?

This team could go far (all formats) as long as Kirtley and co don't ruin it. A top six of Orr, Haines, Alsop, Pujara, Clark and Carter is perfectly adequate. I agree the bowling is a big concern. We never see much of Archer or Robinson these days, Finn is always injured, Hudson-Prentice has been injured for most of the season, Garton has long covid (will he ever get over it?). Atkins, Crocombe and Hunt have gone backwards this season. Currie and Karvelas are the only plus points. Why did we bother signing the Pakistan lad? Carson returning is a big bonus.

Coverepiont summed up well and from what I've seen the likes of the chairman Philby and Andrew they believe we are improving all round ,think they are deluded myself good as kervalas and Currie with the ball the rest of the bowling attack are home grown youngsters who won't be at a decent standard full stop and think we need a Peter Moore's type to come in and breathe some life into the cricket side.off the field we are solvent ,it's just a shame the same people running the county have forgot what there here to do supply a good competitive cricket side.

The young bowlers should be persevered with but not relied upon, we desperately need 2 OS quick otherwise we just won't bowl anyone out, especially on these horrific risable cricket killing tracks we stupidly insist on producing. Who does that when you have a weak bowling attack? Frigging clueless these people.
Finn's done, GG's at one day bowler, we won't see England's best bowler again & Archer is an unreliable bonus, but 2 games in he's gone too.
We have allrounders, Ibrahim needs chances, Coles, Myra's the next gem off the conveyor belt, the greatly name Catchet-Lyon, he's in on that alone, the other kid Buck, he's in, Tear, love that name, he's in.
We have so much in the batting. We need bowlers who can take wickets or we draw or lose every game.
It's not pocket science.
