Tom Haines gifts Potts his 50th wicket for the season with an awful waft way outside his off stump.

Awful shot by Haines. Play restarting in 7 minutes, but I am tuning out and going to do something else with my day. I can't watch this.

No Juice, Sauce or Currie? What they gonna do for lunch? Hiyaaaw!
Beautiful. Somebody should start a guess the Sussex side comp. Make a fortune. Guess the coach too.
Hopefully all this bizarrity will end in what we all want - everyone but the players & Flower to leave.

Oh dear. Haines has had a brain fade. Terrible shot, and out. Devon, I am completely confused by the selection. Carter worth his place as a batsman. Too many bowlers, and two of our best are not playing. What is going on. Managed to find live stream on YouTube. Good Morning Sponge. If you are confused, I am completely mystified. Surely, you select your best team and given the squad of 14, who I am assuming are all fit otherwise you don't drag them almost 6 hours up the M1 to sit on their derrière's, then I don't believe that is what Sussex have done in this match. Hudson-Prentice and Currie are not only better, but based on their last performances get in ahead of Ibrahim, Crocombe and Hunt. You could also argue based on the last fixture Hudson-Prentice should be selected ahead of the overseas, but that was never going to happen. We also are at risk of losing Carter if we continue messing him about. His keeping (again my view, others may disagree) has far too often not been up to the required standard, but that is something for the coaches to address. A part of me if the rumours are to be believed feel the plan is to bring Robinson in from Kent and give him the gloves next season. Carter is too good a prospect to lose. Tear deserves a chance based on his performances in the seconds and good luck to him, but I will take some convincing that Carter isn't as good a batter as Ibrahim and better than Coles and should have at least played as a batter in this match. Do we really need two spinners at Durham, one of whom is really more a batter that bowls? Who is selecting these teams or have we given up on trying to actually win and just looking to give everyone a game? Hasn't taken long for the good feel factor to drain away after the lift the Royal London Cup Tournament provided the supporters. As for Haines, the pressure of captaincy has weighed heavy on his shoulders. Needs to be relieved and allowed to get back to focussing on his batting and reproducing the volume of runs we know he is capable of scoring.

31 for 3 and Ibrahim batting at 5? Ouch. Where is the Pakistani all rounder hiding? I have totally given up with the management decision making.

A reminder that we still need an overseas batsman for next season.

A reminder that we still need an overseas batsman for next season. If we were in any doubt about the impact of Pujara, then this and the Worcestershire game have answered the question. Orr still performing well, Haines will be better next season if relieved of the pressure of captaincy and Alsop is a class act, but no doubt Pujara is the glue that holds it altogether.

Yes indeed. batting has suddenly looked so weak these last 2 games, literally seems to stop at 4, then we’re into the keeper and all rounders. Not much in the way of obvious cover or backup either.

100% agree we need an overseas batsman next season. Give Pujara the captaincy and let Haines concentrate on his batting. Why is Carter not playing? Carter has scored 629 championship runs at 42 FFS.

Sussex seem to want to hack him off for some reason. No opportunity in the 50 over after a decent first season; now this. Feel for the lad.

Patterson has taken 3 wickets at the Oval today for Yorkshire. He is leaving would be a decent signing for you boys. Better than Finn and your young bowlers would learn a lot.

B hell. It gets worse. Poor Crocombe looks to have done some serious damage to his shoulder fielding a ball. Because it's not Covid or concussion no replacement allowed. What a stupid rule. ECB need to get their heads out of their backsides and sort this stupidity out.

No thanks, we’ve been down that road before and it has never worked out. If he still had something to offer, Yorkshire wouldn't have released him. Claydon, Meaker and most recently Finn. Hopefully, we have learnt our lesson, but based on today's team selection I wouldn't bet on it!!
