No squad announced yet and still no word on our missing head coach.
The communication from the club really is laughable at times.

It is quite disrespectful of Sussex. Coach trouble is not good for player development. Our bowling this year has been confused; who plays? Who bowls when? Bowling plans? Ok, there have been injuries but there is more to our poor confused bowling attack than injury. Kirtley out of his depth?

I was willing to give Salisbury and Kirtley my backing thinking anything would be better than the Australian. Now I’m not so sure. I think both of them were/are out of their depth to be honest Sponge. No clear thinking on batting order or bowling changes etc.
Sussex really needs a root and branch clear out at the top.

I presume a squad had to get on a Coach to drive up to Durham and also needed somewhere to stay in Durham? Even if someone in the admin department stood at the Coach and wrote down the names of the people getting on the Coach and posted it on the website it would be more helpful than this radio silence. Nothing on the Social Media sites either. Can we not afford to pay someone for the upkeep of the website and the social platforms anymore?

I think the website was closed yesterday cos of Queenie. Milk? Don't talk to me about milk, I couldn't get any milk.
Expecting a big reaction from the OS fella in this game, if he has international player pride.

Still no Rawlins. What's the story here?

Rawlins missing from the fourteen and didn't make the eleven for the Worcestershire match. Am I right in thinking his contract is up? Do we read anything into this?
He has had an outstanding white ball season, less so in the Championship, but with a bit of TLC and dedicated coaching still worth perservering with in my opinion. Surely, we aren't planning to release him.
Look out for Tear, he will get a run out before the end of the season. Probably, not this one, but the final game home to Glamorgan.

Durham win the toss and bowl first. A first team debut for Tear who keeps wicket.
Orr Haines (c) Alsop Clark Ibrahim Tear (wk) Coles Ashraf Carson Crocombe Hunt.

Matty Potts who currently has 49 wickets for the season plays for Durham. I expect him and Coughlin to be a handful.

Don't understand why we need 6 bowlers and Haines. 7 bowlers.

Oh dear. Haines has had a brain fade. Terrible shot, and out. Devon, I am completely confused by the selection. Carter worth his place as a batsman. Too many bowlers, and two of our best are not playing. What is going on. Managed to find live stream on YouTube.

What sort of team is that? Carter gats 150 a few weeks ago and is jettisoned. Coles can't get a decent wicket in all cricket, plays half the season and gets in ahead of Rawlins who's done the hard yards this year. It all stinks of back to stupid decisions that put the club back even further. IMO starting with making Haines captain. Unwarranted pressure on potentially SCCC best batter for many a year. Has this improved his game you should ask? Salisbury influence on selection here. Salisbury, where is he? Why is he not around? Rumours persist. Starting with why Ben Brown left and the fall out on others. Final comment, Horsham's overseas was twice the player Greenfield signed, fact!

So in addition to Rawlins missing out altogether, Currie, Hudson-Prentice and Carter all not selected. Absolutely bizarre. Currie and H-P opened the bowling against Worcs and their figures stood up considerably better than Crocombe and Arshraf's. Carter and H-P both got 50s in that game and their reward is to get dropped, at the expense of Ibrahim who scored 2 runs in the 2nd's last game? I understand the hype around Tear, and I think there was some noise around the quality of Carter's keeping vs Worcs. I get it is the end of the season and you want to try things, but surely Carter and H-P would be justified in getting on the phone and making it known to other counties they are available? I am guessing the curtain is also being drawn on Rawlins Sussex career, with the implication that in red ball cricket if Carson is fit, he plays. Seems a strange relegation for someone whom had a good white ball season and looked to have become part of the leadership unit that performed well in that comp. It is frustrating given the lack of communication and transparency on these decisions.
