Prior is not wrong in saying that the senior management need to go. A large percentage of this forum seems to feel that way.

Prior is suggesting Mike Yardy should get the job. Nothing against Yardy, but I hope not. Having read the job description Yardy is not right. Keep him in charge of the Academy. We need someone without Sussex baggage. Doesn't suprise me Prior is being vocal on Twitter. Typical. go along with that sponge some out of the Sussex bubble will be no bad thing .

No surprise Cheteshwar Pujara is in the Cricketer Magazine's 'County Championship Division Two 2022 team of the season'. The magazine writes:- Cheteshwar Pujara (Sussex)(8 matches, 1,094 runs, batting average 109.40, five centuries)Just eight games were enough for the India batter to go past 1,000 runs for the season, thanks to his five centuries. Pujara signalled his intent with a double ton on debut against Derbyshire, putting on 351 with Tom Haines for the third wicket. He plundered a second against Durham and completed his hat-trick against Middlesex. His average of 109.40 was the best of anyone in Division Two to play more than two innings.I am sorry, the idea that Pujara will come back to Sussex next season, is highly unlikely. If he does return to county cricket, I am sure there will be plenty of Division 1 teams wanting his talents. The only thing Sussex can do is throw him the Captaincy, three times the amount of money, a penthouse suite and a Rolls-Royce to drive, just to entice him. If he does return, then the club deserves all the accolades under the sun. www.thecricketer.com/Topics/countycricket/county_championship_division_two_2022_team_of_the_season.html

Pujara and his family loved Brighton. A big factor is , he isn’t recognised when out. There are more important things than money.

Would he be recognised in London? I wouldn't recognise him if he delivered my Saturday night pizza. Looking back, he may well have done.

What’s happening with Brad Currie? I notice he’s disappeared from the players profiles.

And unfortunately Kirtley is still showing as Head Coach. Come on Andrew and Co; get your ar*es into gear.

In that recent Rob Andrew interview, he said that by the end of the year it is hoped Sussex will have a new coach for all formats.
I still reckon it could be Grant Flower. He knows all the players, so has a running start.

What will next season's team look like? Orr Haines Alsop Pujara Clark Carter wk ? ? Carson ? ? We need seam bowlers! Alsop is regarded as the best Keeper on the staff at the moment so I'd imagine they'd try and work a way for him to take the gloves, failing that Charlie Tear would probably be 2nd choice. Archer, Robinson and Seales would be a lively attack for the first couple of games!

Orr Haines Alsop Pujara (c) Clark Carter FHP Garton Carson Seales Atkins/Crocombe/Hunt. I think mine would be. Haines Orr Clark Pujara (C) Alsop (WK) Ibrahim Garton Hudson Prentice Carson Finn Seales It does look like we need another seamer though and slightly more quality in depth but that looks like a side that can win red ball games of cricket.

Too many bowlers for my liking. Don't need Ibrahim when Haines can bowl well; and Clarke can turn his arm over. Carter deserves his place as a batter. To get his excellent red ball batting average in his first full season warrants a place. Let's hope Sussex haven't ruined him. How long will Finn last? Is Garton going to be fit? Will Lenham get more opportunities than others? Where is Rawlins? Be careful about messing with Alsop's batting by giving him the gloves. Lots of questions that hopefully can be managed properly by our new head coach. Salisbury and Kirtley let the team down last season and most disappointing of all is that neither new how to communicate properly to our young squad members. A shocking state of affairs. Looking forward to 2023.

What’s the latest with Currie? And will Ari K be fit for start of season?
