I've got Ibrahim as the fourth seamer? Is he up to it? Other option would be FHP at 6, but as you said, would be harsh to drop someone who's just made a maiden first-class century. Did he actually keep while batting 3? I didn't think he did, I thought he only moved up to 3 after Carter had taken the gloves. Yep, be interesting to see how Clark develops as a bowler. Like you say about Haines though, he is a fifth seamer rather than fourth. Let's not pretend we've suddenly been brilliantly run, I'm not biting. We've won 3 championship games in 3 years and haemorrhaged far too many senior players for no obvious reason. That situation has not changed. For no obvious reason other than having to cut our playing budget by 300k. Sorry, I've missed something. Where did you read we have to cut our 2023 playing budget by 300k? |

Sorry, I've missed something. Where did you read we have to cut our 2023 playing budget by 300k? When John said there was no obvious reason to lose our senior players. As in the Telegraph article where Jon Filby informed us they had to cut playing budget by 300k. Thanks. I thought the 300k reduction in playing budget was needed to see us through the pandemic; not for 2023 and beyond. Surely we should not need to cut playing budgets now. We have two big overseas Seales and Pujara for 2023. Leave it at that and don't throw money at T20 mercenaries. I think we have a very talented squad. Given the right head coach and support coaches we can continue to improve and compete in more games. But don't expect miracles. |

Worries me that the Sussex website us reporting on Rashid and Philippe in the BBL.Why?
Can we assume from this that these two are going to be given T20 contacts.
I hope not. A complete waste of money.
Sussex need to trust youth in the T20.
They already have Puhjara and Seales.
Play them.

I can't help but feel disappointed that the latest news posted on the Sussex website is about Rashid.
I have no interest in this white ball mercenary; and I hope Sussex do not reemploy him.
This is where Andrew let's himself down.
This crass comms lays at his door.
The supporters are interested in how our squad players are performing; give them some focus. Tell us what hey are doing and where.
I think Farbrace has a huge job to do.
Dealing with players I think he'll be good at. Trying to educate Andrew and co is another matter.

Having had a look at the released list from all counties, the players available dont look like they'll improve our current squad much so we may just have to go with what weve got so here's who i think will start the first game.
1. Haines
2. Orr
3. Alsop
4. Pujara (C)
5. Clark
6. Ibrahim
7. Tear (WK)
8. Garton/FHP
9. Robinson
10. Seales or Alternative O/S as no news on his knee injury.
11. Carson
Looks strong enough, bowling depth looks there but batting apart from Carter and maybe Rawlins to potentially push for places, looks lacking depth unless theres another youngster pushing.

Don't think we'll see much of Robinson.

Just need to make sure Kirtley doesn't mess up our young pace men.

Robinson should play most games up until June, no test after Feb and before then so i fully expect him to play. Just cant see how Rawlins gets in over Ibrahim.

Gordy's team is more accurate although it should be Carter & H-P for Tear & Ibrahim, for me. Carson won't be 11 in any team though dumbo & Sears, we do know, isn't gonna be fit so out 3rd OS option, Kojak, will play. It's not rocket science Gordy, you should know all this given when your nose is.
It doesn't matter anyway cos in two years we're gonna be the only team that hasn't gone bust, according to Gordy, so we'll win everything.
