Got a feeling this is going to be a hugely entertaining series.
These Indian pitches often offer more than the ones we saw in Pakistan last winter and with the way England play itll be interesting to see if any of the tests go beyond 3 days.
Pujara has been given potential retrieve with Kohli pulling out for personal reasons for the first 2 tests but it still looks likely theyll overlook him.
I fancy India to win the series and youd be a brave man to bet any of these tests will end in a draw!

Ollie Rob and Jimmy Anderson not selected.
Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonathan Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Ben Foakes, Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Mark Wood, Jack Leach
Ollie must feel hard done by given his successes in Pakistan last winter, i think in sub continental conditions a top of off consistent bowler is a weapon.

I can't believe we're about to start a test match with only one fast bowler! I just hope they've had a good look at the wicket, it'd would be awful if we get 1-2 days into the match and realise Jimmy/Ollie would've been better suited to it. If any one of our spinners gets hit out of the attack it's going to be a long hard slog for the others. Such a shame that none of our other batsmen (apart from Root) are able to bowl, look at Australia with 5 of their top 6 able to bowl usefully (Smith, Labuschagne, Head, M.Marsh, Green), it takes so much pressure off the main bowlers.

Poor Tom Hartley, making Simon Kerrigan's test figures look respectable. Bonkers the fella is even out there to be honest. Saying that we dont have one elite spinner so we were always going to be up against it. I thought they batted well on a testing pitch but bowled proverbial pies at them. |

The amount of full tosses weve bowled is a litte embarassing but saying that theyve not even had any kind of warm up.
When you only play 1 seamer i dont think it can ever be Mark Wood, Robbos consistency and cutters would have made a lot more sense.

Fair play to Hartley, he's taken some wickets, made runs, taken a catch and a run-out. Not the best debut but he's done a bit of everything.

I’m now even more mystified as to why Liam Dawson wasn’t selected for this tour. Hope the series doesn’t prove devastating to the confidence of our young spinners and I’m glad Carson isn’t in the firing line.
