Ward playing may suggest they were looking at him as an option. With a position to play for Carter failing probably hasnt helped him but i wonder if Lion-Cachet can apply some pressure.

Rob Key is quoted today as saying that Jofra will bowl a spell for Sussex in this match on Thursday or Friday to prepare him for international T20 action next week.

At the moment there are no 1st team batting places up for grabs; even if a 2nd team player gets a big hundred. I think Clarke will continue for the next two games. The only way in for a 2nd team player, because the 1s are playing well (apart from the last blip) is through injury. Saying all that, all 2s players will want to perform well just to remind Farbrace of their worth.

I'm not sure thats true at all Sponge, Farby will be keeping a close eye on whats going on at Kent and if he thinks a player is ready he'll make that decision. Coles last year is a very clear example of that.

Coles last year is a very clear example of that. I sort of agree with you. The big difference this year is the current quality and experience of the 1s. There are a lot of 1s players that are undroppable based on what they have done already. Coles quite rightly forced his way in last year.

It clearly says the next 4 games starting with Gloucestershire, that makes Sussex the 4th game.

But he misses the game before Northants which is next week , which is the Sussex match! Confusing. Hope he does play.

……and Rogers is back, having not batted in the first innings. Looks as if they played Tyrrell in the first innings and Rogers in the second.

He’s been playing club cricket in Barbados. Needs game time before the T20’s v Pakistan starting next week.
