Are we seeing the reinvention of Archie Lenham as a middle order batsman rather than a leg spinner? After all, it worked quite well for Steve Smith!

A decent option in the wings if Carson or Coles aren't firing. Mind you, Coles is rightly unlikely to lose his place and Carson will be selected on one leg. Farbrace has his favourites. We also have Foreman, who actually spins the ball.

Lenham didn’t bowl in the Kent innings but has scored 110 runs so far batting at 5 and 6. It does suggest batting is becoming his main discipline. Of course it should be in his genes!

Of course it should be in his genes! easy to forget also he is only 19 still. He has a FC batting average of 20 and shown glimpses in his few games that he was a very capable player. Another very exciting talent albeit in a different discipline to what was once expected.

Excellent win for the second team. A sporting declaration that paid off. Contrary to my earlier comments, Lenham bowled and took 3 wickets and Jofra came through unscathed. Definitely more satisfying than following the first team today!

Been a bit unlucky with the weather. Let's hope Arundel is good for tomorrow.

A decent sized crowd and a very pleasant afternoon to watch cricket for a change. It served as a reminder of what we're missing by not having any first team games at Arundel in recent years. As for the Sussex performance, they collapsed from 67-1 (Ward a blazing 45 from 27) in the 12th over to 122 all out. Regrettably Carter was out for 1 and the likes of Lion-Cachet and Rogers did not make a convincing case for first team inclusion.
