After watching the first two days I can 100% confirm what I am sure you are all already aware of, Henry Rogers is one top quality talent. He needed a score, was averaging 18 before this game. |

After watching the first two days I can 100% confirm what I am sure you are all already aware of, Henry Rogers is one top quality talent. And he has the right platform now to develop. Whereas previously he would have been fast tracked to the first team he can work on his game in the 2s and when Farbs thinks hes ready we may have another little gem from our academy. |

After my post yesterday Rogers could easily have gone first ball and was clean bowled second. Just as well Barker isn't involved second innings.

You’d rather he bowled them in the 2’s than the 1sts? I’d rather he didn’t bowl them at all. We lost because we conceded 83 extras! |

Worth noting Hampshire conceded 69 extras in the match - so a difference of 14. In addition to the batting collapse, we were unable to bowl their tail out cheaply in the 2nd innings. Hampshire went from 127-8 to 206 all out (i don't think Karvelas bowled yesterday - if anything he would have made the difference).
I hope Carter can find a bit of form with the bat very soon. Very much out of sorts at the moment.

So because Hants conceded 69 then our 83 wasn’t that bad? It was bad and not just the no balls, there were too many byes too. It’s not just Carters batting that needs to improve. |

We lost because we conceded 83 extras! we didnt we lost because we didnt score enough runs, im not sure how long youve been following the game but extras have been part of the game ever since it existed. No balls happen wides happen byes happen in the same way wickets and runs are part of the game. Hants gave away 69 extras. I dont spin anything at all I look at things from all angles and yes on this occassion im glad he bowled his no balls in the 2s rather than against Yorkshire where he was exceptional. You can call it spin ill call it not slagging off a young cricketer making his way in the game at every opportunity you get. As I said yes its annoying but if it means he goes away and works on it again and produces in the 1s it makes little difference. |

Exactly this if we bowled better at the tail 2nd innings we win the game. Facts often get in the way of an argument and the backs go up. |

Joe, were you at the game? As we know byes in red ball that should be wides are a nightmare for keepers. My point is, unless you were at the game, it is not fair to be over critical.
