Hughes is injured and replaced by Ibrahim. I presume Alsop will probably open. If it’s a long term injury it would take a lot of wind out of our sails.

Oh heck, it looks like the desperately out of form Oli Carter is down to open. Praying for a miracle recovery in form and confidence!

14 time out of 15 times Carter has failed to convert 50 to a 100. A mental issue he badly needs to overcome.

Carter showing he can do it after a very tricky spell on 35 for ages! If this 3rd commentator says “blocked away nicely by Carter” one more time I think I will have to mute him for a while!

That 96 was one of the important innings I've seen this season on a pitch seaming all over the place with variable bounce he got one that stuck in the pitch. Opening up out of form facing 34-3 that innings was worth 180. You had drag to him off the field he was that disappointed. The Reaction from from the crowd and the dressing room alike will tell him how good that knock is.

Another player we’ve jolted back to form by expressing doubts on this forum. We really ought to get some recognition for this!

It is not one of his strong shots either. Play to your strengths. He should have ducked it and waited for something on his pads. He has undone all his good work. He needs scores of 100+ to stay in the side. Chances for Oli are going to be few and far between especially when Hughes and Clark return he will be back in 2XI which is why he needs to score big on the few occasions he does get a chance.

Superb knock

If he ducked it would have hit in him the ribs. Undone all his good work after taking on long hop after long hop. If he ducked all of those too he'd have scored 20.

He was on 96 you don't take any risks especially with such a big milestone around the corner. His ribs are over the stumps. He could have ducked. With the number of four balls they have bowled it would only have been a matter of time.
He batted amazingly this morning in very difficult conditions and that is why I am so annoyed he got out for 96.
