Great to win. We are not home and hosed though. Yorkshire are in steamroller mode, and Middlesex are still only a win behind us even if they lose to Leics. . So with two strong teams on our tail, we have to keep delivering. If Middx don’t win their current game, we’ll have 5 wins, Middx will have 3 and Yorks 2. So we have a good safety margin but we’d all want to extend our winning streak and nail it down securely. I’m particularly hoping for revenge over Glamorgan. Wins will also probably be harder to come by later in the year when rain could be around. So provided we keep doing as we are doing it is looking very very good. Unlike Middlesex’s victory prospects.

So with two strong teams on our tail, we have to keep delivering. only a win thats massive at the top of the table with 5 games to go. Thats a max bonus point win with us getting nothing. This is a team winning the last 2 games without being at their best and thats highly encouraging. 96 points from 5 games guarantees us the title about 19 points a game but in truth youd probably say 60 points in them 5 games will probably be enough to secure it.

This campaign has been all kinds of good. That’s not in dispute. But unless I’m missing something, that table says one terrible round and we are in a three-way dogfight. That one terrible round would look like us getting well beaten by Yorkshire, and Middlesex beating Northants. Entirely possible as Yorks are on fire and Northants aren’t great. Obviously hope your confidence is justified. I think we may need to come up with some performances topping what we’ve already managed.

It was encouraging to see McAndrew stepping up when Oliver was obviously injured/ill? Be interesting to see if he’s back for the Blast on Friday. I hope the snub from the England selectors puts fire in his belly rather than doubts in his head.

Well yes but the point is 1 full win clear of 2nd is massive with 5 games to go. Yorks play middlesex after us so something gives there too. 2 good rounds 2 terrible rounds and an average round probably still gets us over the line.

Whilst im not dismisisng the blast i'd rather he be injured for those games and back firing at Scarborough.

The Gloucs v Glam game shows that county cricket continues to enthral. What a disaster it would be if ever it were abandoned.

What a disaster it would be if ever it were abandoned. yeah great entertainment, the only thing i kind of feel about it is yesterday nearly 600 was chased on the final day and somerset knocked off 430 odd comfortably too. Is this good for the county game that such totals are being chased with almost regular ease. Is it taking the battle away from what used to be key days 1 and 2.

So Glamorgan were nine down and needed 2 to win, one to tie, going into final over. Ball two, Crane (lead batsman) has an easy single to fine leg. If he takes it, at worst Glamorgan tie. And the number 11 has three free chances to get the one run winning it for Glamorgan. If he doesn’t, crane has chance to keep strike and score more than one himself, winning Glamorgan the game if he manages it. Crane turned the single down. Right decision? (I thought he should def have taken the single)

I think Crane was defending the final wicket which he’d done admirably for the preceding 6 overs. He just didn’t want Glous to win.

At worst it’s honours even. It would be interesting to know if it was a tactical decision to fancy his chances of getting two himself, or if he just got lost in the moment.

Definitely a fair point particularly as the draw is worth the same as a tie for some mad reason.
