Revised XI (following the news that Lamb is out for the season through injury) would be Haines, Clark, Lion-Cachet, Carter, Simpson wk, Hudson-Prentice, Ibrahim, Carson, Karvelas, Campbell, Hunt.

We don't offer people a long-term contract on the basis of three wickets against a minor county side. Pretty sure this was said in jest which is why there’s a winking emoji at the end! I wouldn't put it past Sussex as they have done so in the past.

We have a squad.
Campbell, Carter, Clark, Crocombe, Foreman, Haines, Hudson-Prentice, Hunt, Ibrahim, Karvelas, Lenham, Lion-Cachet, Rogers, Simpson* (wk)
Pretty much all thats left.
I'd go batting heavy
Haines Clark Carter Rogers FHP Simpson Ibrahim Lion-Cachet Lenham Karvelas Campbell Not entirely sure why we are resting Carson.

That still doesn't make any sense. Bloke with limited white ball experience he's had he needs more.

That still doesn't make any sense. Bloke with limited white ball experience he's had he needs more. It’s not just about Carson though. We need other spinning options, especially when Coles gets in the England team! To achieve that, we need to give the next generation some experience. I also think, given our success in the Championship and T20, we can afford to relax about results in the 50 over.

Carsons played 6 list A games and 10 t20s he needs experience bowling in these formats. No problem with Lenham and Foreman gaining experience to but as a second spinner.

We’ll be lucky to limp to 150 at this rate!

This slow scoring is straight out of the early 80s

We’ll have to bowl well to defend that score, didn’t even bat out all the overs.

This one-day cup campaign could be hard going. We will get a clearer idea which of the young players are up to it though. They are learning on the job and a few egos could get bruised along the way. No bad thing. We will also miss the experience of Danny Lamb.

No bad thing. We will also miss the experience of Danny Lamb. Can’t be any harder than last year when we only won one game (I hope!). There’s a divide between those teams playing their strongest available lineups, targeting to win the competition and others treating it largely as development for young players. That could lead to some very one sided games.
