Here we go then back to the proper cricket and I think a win or a draw pretty much sees us go up as champs.
Can’t imagine there’ll be any changes to the team.
At the moment the weather is set fair until Friday pm but that’s a long way off and could easily change before then.
C’mon Sussex, one last push.

We are 21 points clear of Yorkshire and 36 clear of Middlesex. Without tempting fate, it is very unlikely either side will pick up the maximum points available to them even if they win both their remaining matches. If we match Yorkshire's result against Glamorgan this week then barring a freak outcome in the final round of matches we should go up as Division Two winners.

Yeah i think promotion is all but done youd fancy 12 points in 2 matches and as you say its likely to be less than 12 that we need and Middlesex have to win both. Might be a blessing in disguise what happened Saturday to re focus the minds on the job that needs doing.

(Not that I’m tempting fate by suggesting it’s a done deal. Still work to do )

Here's the squad but as Joe said, the team is most likely to be unchanged: Alsop, Carson, Carter, Clark, Coles, Crocombe, Haines, Hudson-Prentice, Hughes, Hunt, Robinson, Simpson (c, wk), Unadkat

I'd leave out FHP and play Carter but they wont do that. Thought process being weve got 3 proper seamers and very good spinner and then 2 back ups from that with Coles and Clark. FHP wont bowl many overs and he hasnt been too effective with the bat.

Loss the toss and fielding. Happy enough with that. Hughes not playing, Foreman for FHP must be a bunsen.

New South Wales have asked Daniel to return earlier than planned ahead of the Australian season and as such he is unavailable for selection for Sussex for the rest of the season.
We are immensely grateful for Daniel’s contribution to a successful season across the County Championship and T20 Vitality Blast and look forward to welcoming him back next year.
We are fortunate to have strength in depth in our playing squad and are confident of finishing the season as strongly as we have played all year.
Bertie Foreman has been added to the squad for the Gloucestershire match.

Not easy for him having had to contend with the signing of Simpson, albeit the correct decision. It emphasises even more the need to sign a top order experienced batter over the winter. Let's hope Farbrace can unearth another gem.
