As there's nothing at stake in this match, we may see a few 'experiments'. I wonder how strong a team Sri Lanka will field.

Why does it say on BBC we are playing these boys twice - I know one is SLa but does that mean we're chucking out two sides? In two different places it seems too - why the hell are we playing in Swindon for one of 'em?

The ECB has instructed Sussex that anybody waving a Tamil flag this afternoon is to be evicted from the ground.

I don't think I'd recognise a Tamil flag. I hope our stewards been given the necessary training . . .

So this was a 20 over match was it - it was hard to tell. Yardy's 11 off 25 at number 3 was what confused me. Another dazzling sublime innings from the batters - he is no T20 batter, neither is Joyce, but especially not Yardy. If it's the track's fault then have a word with the groundman because this is meant to be entertainment - and people wonder where the crowds are. Let's see if the bowlers can work another miracle or if our luck has finally run out.

63 off 4, so it ain't the pitch. Some excitement at last.

Our batsmen struggle in this format and our back up bowlers don't measure up The positives? Well we've rode our luck and bizarrely are top of our group. To have any real chance of winning it though, we need to bring in an OS batsman who knows how to play the game.

Damn, nearly had 'em but they just scraped through. I hope Finch enjoyed the experience, of being an absolute bystander. I wonder what the logic is behind wanting to look at a young batsman and then not bringing him in until most the bowlers, and deliveries, had passed. Where were Hatchett, Hobden and Jackson too?

I bet he was pretty pleased to be a bystander, only really Machan enhanced his reputation

On reflection it might have been better if Sri Lanka had batted first, still, home in plenty of time to get the dinner on. In truth it was always going to be a bit one sided, they are the best T20 side in the world and we aren't even the best in the country, but I enjoyed seeing Malinga bowl.

Dunno, but we definitely need someone to add impetus to our batting It looked a worry before the competition started, and despite our two victories, it remains a problem
