How is it possible for so many batsmen to be out of form at the same time? (Someone is probably going to say 'no batting coach').
Four of the top six - Yardy, Wells, Nash and Cachopa - averaging between 15 and 22 over the season so far.

So 5 gone in 17 overs. Must be a Somme style minefield out there. I've noticed how often the conditions change when we go into bat . . .

97 for 8! Blimey, this is ludicrous - it's not yet lunch on day 3.

So 5 gone in 17 overs. Must be a Somme style minefield out there. Our last three matches have ben played on very poor wickets where seamers prosper. While mags has exhausted himself the opposition get away against the change bowling....how many wickets has hobden got in the last three matches on these helpful pitches? had their 55-6 and 107-8 turned into 140 and 140 we would have won and our 180 odd looked rather good.

Bet Magoffin wasn't expecting to bat before 1pm when he wrapped up the innings this morning. A couple of youngsters should be given a crack after this.
Also think we've desperately missed Shahzad against the tail!

This is simply, a bit rubbish disappointing. We had opportunities in this match, but we weren't 100 per cent on our A1 game so we couldn't press home our advatage at vital times - and when that happens you tend to get punished at this level. There are plenty of positives we can take from this match, like Magoffin's bowling ...and,er, Magoffin's bowling. But we've got a strong squad, and although we will lose Chris Jordan for the rest of the month, we've got Ed Joyce returning on the back of a double century for Ireland and we feel we're in a good place going forward to the Hampshire game. There jonboy, I've translated into coach-speak for you, to save Mark Robinson the bother later this afternoon!

You have forgotten the bit about how diffilult it is for a side to feel settled when so many players have injuries and how Shahzad will definitely be back next month, and Anyon is now sitting up in bed and taking light refreshment, while Lewis Hatchett is doing splendidly on his new legs.

I aslo forgot the bit about the positive side of the match ending in two and a half days is that it means we've got an extra day and a half to get in the nets and work on a few technical issues (well we would if we had a batting coach) and ensure we're on our A1 game for Sunday...

Thanks, Robbo. "Now, taking the negatives from this match - what do you think we should do about the consistently rubbish disappointing batting performances (apart from Ed Joyce, of course)? Do we need a batting coach, perhaps?" Over to you, BM Robbo . . .

Oh, and we've got the psychological upper hand in home roller advantage and because Hampshire will be having a few nightmares about our relaid pitches, whereas our batsmen know what to expect (i.e. back away towards square-leg and duck...)

Against Hampshire if we produce a dodgy pitch it will be minus eight as we got poor and a warning last time.

For a Sussex batting collapse this is right up there with the very best.
Huge sympathies for Magoffin. 12 wickets in the match and now he's hit the second highest score in the second innings. Goodness knows what Ollie must think too.
To state the bleedin' obvious, Sussex require a top batting coach.
Meanwhile, let the Hove angel wend her miracle stick. I predict Brown and Magoffin to score an unbeaten 180 partnership now. Let us sit back and enjoy.

Adrian Harms says on the BBC radio: "Walking around talking to people during the lunch interval there is a general view that the Sussex top order batsmen have lacked application."
