I too agree about the "awarding" of byes against the wicketkeeper. Perhaps if a few more ex wicket keepers were umpires it would address the situation. With George Sharp now forcibly retired Ian Gould is the only other umpire who was a keeper and he rarely does county matches owing to his international commitments.
I have been impressed for several seasons how few extras Yorkshire concede. They hardly ever bowl no balls or wides and consistently concede fewer extras than their opponents. It all adds up in the end.
