The final appearance - this season at least - of Kevin Pietersen, the well-known cricketer, in England.

Typical Pietersen is playing especially with the small ground!

Can't go to this due to a prior appointment with Will. Shakespeare al fresco (The Tempest, performed by the Rain Or Shine Touring Company, so let's hope the choice of play and the name of the strolling players aren't meteorological omens); but hoping Robinson can follow the example of Paul Farbrace and conjure a New Dawn from a New Sussex this afternoon, with the batsmen "expressing themselves" and playing "fearless cricket" instead of the timid and shell-shocked performances of recent times!

Perhaps the Arundel performance might be "All's Well That Ends Well"?

Omens and auguries:
Pietersen has played 3 T20 games against Sussex. Last year he didn't need to reach the crease at the Oval as Amla and Peterson calmly overhauled the Sussex total in 15.3 overs. He was 36 not out at Hove in July 2012, opening and scoring the runs off 4.4 overs as Surrey won a rain-ruined game. A few days earlier at Guildford he was caught by Gatting off Beer for 8 when Sussex chased successfully in the rain.
The last time Surrey visited Arundel for a T20 was in 2010, when they won handsomely thanks to an unbeaten 87 by a Rory Hamilton-Brown.
In 22 games between the sides the score is 11-11.

I'm afraid I can't see anything other than a Surrey win in this one

Luke Wright's soliloquy:- To bowl or not to bowl; Whether tis nobler in the toss to unleash the slings and arrows of Mills and Liddle, Or to take strike against a season of troubles and by batting, end them...
