On the field, all going according to script Precisely so. In this case even with a solid first 10 overs so it could be a lot worse.

Surrey cricketers Rory Burns and Moises Henriques, have been involved in a sickening collision while fielding in the NatWest Blast tie between Sussex and Surrey at Arundel Castle. Three ambulances and medics are in attendance and there is a fear of serious injury. Play was immediately suspended and the match is expected to be abandoned. The rest of the players have been taken from the pitch whilst the players affected are treated. The players collided while running for a catch offered by Steffan Piolet off Tom Curran in the 19th over of Sussex's innings.

Happily it seems that both Surrey players are OK.
Sussex supporters will recall the 40 overs game v Kent at Canterbury about five seasons ago when Chris Nash and Dwayne Smith were involved in a similar collision. An ambulance was driven on to the outfield and although Smith was fortunately able to continue after treatment, Nash was taken to hospital. After a 25 minute interruption, the umpires ordered the players to return to the field and the game continued, with Sussex using a substitute fielder.
I don't wish to sound harsh, but what exactly was the reason for the abandonment of today's game : was it because it was deemed to be unfair to expect Surrey to bat with only nine men and the game would have continued if one of them could have been patched up, enabling Surrey to play on with ten?
Presumably refunds all round for what sounds like a huge Arundel crowd - covered, one would hope, by the insurance policy that Sussex one presumes has prudently taken out to cover such circumstances.
With Henriques probably out of action for a week or two, perhaps Linley's loan will now be cancelled?
