Yards amazingly given out bowled when to me and Chris Nash that it looked suspiciously like Simpson disturbed the stumps with his boot. If so it cancels out the Roland Jones lbw last night. Look at the video on the middx site and it doesn't hit the batsman's pad but hits Ben brown!

Yardy goes and it seems only an 'Act of God' can save us from defeat and rubbing noses with Hampshire. Time for a rain dance. BBC weather says while Brighton is in for a lot of rain this afternoon, London may get away with just the odd shower. Did anyone hear the Mark Robinson radio interview? If so, what did he say? You mean did he resign? No. The bit I heard was a recital of the bad luck he'd had with seamers' injuries.

Murray takes his 500 wicket for Middles ex as he removes Luke Wright with a leg - cutter with the 4th ball of a new spell - spectacularly caught by Rayner away to his right. (Ben Brown cover drives his first ball for 4)

I wouldn't blame an individual PLAYER for the mess we're in.

Sw, I am not as negative about Robinson as you. Fb, The bit I heard was a recital of the bad luck he'd had with seamers' injuries. The problem being, it is not the seamers who have let us down. The bowling points column prove that. It is the batting which has let us down re: the batting points column, so the 'bad luck' is not relevant. Sussex are now bottom of Division 1 for a short period after the earlier Hampshire thrashing of Warwickshire. What with two Yorkshire games to come, the Mark Robinson miracle-factory has never been more needed. That Worcestershire game in September is absolutely pivotal. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/county-championship-division-one/tablewww.youtube.com/watch?v=pVhJ8pXKaKQ
