back on topic - I can't see there being any play today, although they haven't yet called it off.
If the forecast stays dry, I aim to be there tomorrow for the last home day.

Oh my God did anyone see this weather coming, what a nightmare, my emus are going mental, as I said, oh my God. That earlier forecast said rain Monday and no rain Tuesday - can't remember what it said about Wednesday but anyway, don't wanna blow my own trumpet but that was inaccurate so it's weatherman nil Fraudster one, and it's full time. I'll let that spunky little blonde sort from Channel 5 off but the rest of them, and their satellites, can be binned.
It's all a bit tight down there (I'm back on cricket now), still plenty to play for and worry about. Well done Mike Yardy, not many go out on a ton - a fitting reward.

Good job we went with that extra batsman. Great recovery from these two and as things stand, we've stretched our lead over our rivals by two points Not really. I'd have played a bowler instead of Wells, who made not many, and the extra bowler may have helped to do more damage one way or another than the two wickets we managed. Because of the weather that nobody forecast I spose it's all epidemic anyway.

Gilmour will play Fat Old Sun at Orange tomorrow. It's a song now, used to be a comment on our fielders.

If there is anyone on here can they tell me if there will be play tomorrow, Sussex CCC website says no play Thursday, I hope that is a typo, thanks in anticipation.

Yes, the genius of Sussex marketing has struck again, unable to tell one day of the week from another. There has been no announcement that play is abandoned though I imagine that the outfield will be very, very wet and play is most unlikely to start on time. The forecast and the actualite is for a drier, sunny day. On edit: Belatedly updated this morning to read No play Wednesday - very poor, lazy work!

Surprised and delighted at an ontime start here on a warn sunny day. Apparently groundstaff started at 4.00 am to get outfield drained - well done!

Zaidi currently bowling amiably, milkably - but only because the over rate has declined to -1. Nothing in the pitch so perhaps Wells with a bit more flight and bite might cause an upset - but not holding my breath that Jpyce will bowl 2 spinners.

Interested to see whether Trescothick declares as soon as they reach 400 to deprive us of the chance of getting any more bowling points or whether he will want to get to 200.

A disappointing and sad day. Disappointing because what could have been an exciting final day ended as a damp squib. Sussex looked devoid of ideas on a placid pitch and this allowed Trescothick to score an imperious 200 and Trego 100 gaining an additional 2 points over Sussex. The sad news being this is the last home day of the season where every year one asks the same question. 'Where the hell has the Summer gone?' Meanwhile, the Hampshire v Yorkshire match is still a bit spicy after the loss of Gale. It is very much a game for Yorkshire to lose given there are 12 overs left and just 33 runs required with 5 wickets left. Andy Hodd has just come in so, perhaps, he can help his old club out? Dave Allen sounds a little morose on radio commentary. Present Tablewww.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/county-championship-division-one/tableedit: Hampshire lose and their brave gambling declaration backfires. Pheww!! Now 16 points behind Sussex. Down to the wire and the last match but surely Sussex are now strong favourites to stay up.
