Hampshire pass 200 but lose Dawson. No way are we getting to 250! Just got to hope Hampshire lose now Or, we win! Or, there is a lot of rain. However, I think you are right.

Hampshire pass 200 but lose Dawson. No way are we getting to 250! Just got to hope Hampshire lose now I think we can do a little better than that. For example, we are only a few runs behind Yorkshire on first innings: why not set ourselves the task of beating them? That would be the best way of removing any threat from Hampshire.

Quite right, HHS. I think some of the team's negativity is rubbing off on the fans.

Arrghhh! All out with just two runs away from a second batting point. And after such a battling performance from the tail too. Parity at tea. Do we dare dream of a Magoffin fifer before close of play?

I was hoping a bit of reverse psychology would work! Agonisingly close, especially if Hampshire don't make it to 250 either. Go for the win like you suggested hh!

Great start from CJ. To hell with the bonus points - this game is for winning!

Great start from CJ. To hell with the bonus points - this game is for winning! A target of about 63 would be fine. Over 150 would be tense.

Would like a wicket in both games. Can't understand why Broad hasn't had a bowl at these 2 which leads me to believe he's injured or the ecb have something to do with it

If he's not bowling then he probably shouldn't be playing - he is now with the new ball I guess!!

Sussex wrap up the innings quickly, then cause a major surprise as Chris Jordan walks down the steps to open the batting with Ed Joyce! Innovative! That ain't the word I'd use. The word I'd use begins with S and ends with D, the first syllable is short for the name Stuart, the second is the word pig but with a D instead of the G. The letters in between the S and the D are TUPI. Hope I haven't been too cryptic. We've tried this crap before, with Anyon, and it don't work - never has never will. This team is forever springing nasty surprises. A nice surprise though was the balance. Not sure I've mentioned it before but I'm really in favour of the balance we have gone back to, after dumping it for one game. Hats off to that and hats off to the much maligned Liddle and even Hatchett, who was described as a good club bowler by HH after one game on a road. He might well be but giva-guya-go. Went there once. Gotta be in it to win it and we're in it so we could win it. That didn't rhyme as much as I was hoping to be honest.

What an interesting days play. Sussex polished off the Yorkshire innings thanks to a smart slip catch by Jordan and a strangely shotless Plunkett eventually swiping to Joyce. Opening with Jordan was very odd and as it lasted only a few balls hard to comment on over than it clearly failed. Sussex batted as if they thought a wicket was due at any minute and plundered fours in all directions. Machan and Wright had bright cameos. The glue was Yardy who batted fluently with some lovely drives and was very unlucky to chop on to his wicket. Brown batted very well too but after hitting Bresnan for a 4 and 6 mishooked the next ball and was excellently caught by a diving Sidebottom on the boundary. I thought Zaidi was very unlucky to be given LBW. It looked legside and high from my position behind the bowlers arm. Rashid and Plunkett bowled assorted rubbish to allow Sussex to get almost parity. I had to leave then but the game looks well set. If Yorkshire get through to lunch with only 3-4 down then Sussex will be up against it but if wickets tumble tomorrow morning as they did today who knows?

Very poor effort from Sussex. To Machan, Wright, Yardy, Brown and Zaidi it's not a one-day match! It's about occupying the crease! Don't give me that's the way I play rubbish. No you're just batting like a prat. If Machan doesn't get 61 in the second innings he should be shot because 1,000 runs looked a formality four games ago. They might care a little more if their salary was going to drop 50% if they relegated like they would in football. I hope everyone knows the way to Glamorgan because where we are heading next season. Absolutely pathetic performance!
