Cue the long-term decline in England Women's cricket. England will be significantly weaker without Edwards, Taylor and Greenway.

Pity he wasn't as 'positive' about making changes at Sussex last year.

Edwards and Greenway sacked, Taylor on an 'indefinite break'. Surely odds are now against ST coming back to make it a trio of scalps for Robinson?
Its pretty obvious this is all going to end in tears. What does the man think he is doing?
There is one hell of a power struggle going on here in which gender is playing a substantial part. My prediction: Robinson will resign within 12 months and return to men's county cricket and Charlotte Edwards will be made head coach with a trio of male assistant coaches working under her...

A pretty universal Twitter response to this news, following the other "did she jump or was she pushed by a dour, unsmiling Yorkshireman" incidents. This is one I like:
Tim Jones @timjonesbooks 1h1 hour ago
@crickether Mark Robinson's cunning plan to go into the 2017 World Cup with a team of 5-year-olds continues to take shape...

Has he earmarked any promising youngsters to replace these 3 senior players? I don't follow the 'behind the scenes' womens' game, so I've no idea if there are any powerful cabs waiting on the rank.

Never a man to respond well to criticism, Robinson is now playing the victim card " "It's tough for your daughter to read some things from cowards on social media." in response to the outcry at his forcing the resignation of Charlotte Edwards www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/36445465

Listening to that interview the only conclusion is that the bloke doesn't know what he is doing. Yardy said on commenrtary tonight he has been doing some work with the England women's team. Some things never change in Robbo-la-la-land...#jobsfortheboys

Farrant and Grundy are surprise omissions.

Two Sussex players in Elwiss and Wyatt.
“Monday is going to be a very proud day for our new captain and vice-captain. Under their leadership we will start a new chapter for the England women’s team," according to Robinson.
