bm, s&f: I think we knew that about Prior and the 'secret' team meeting long ago. Doesn't the central allegation go even further? Namely that Prior - who by then had already been dropped from the team - is not only alleged to have 'sneaked' to Flower, but was actually the moving spirit in convening the meeting in the first palce and was one of the coach's most outspoken critics? I agree, but I was trying to be untactful in a sort of tactful way, particularly when Mark Robinson has been defending Prior and singing his praises these last few days!

"As Morgan points out the ECB can't even spell Al(i)astair Cook's surname correctly in the said dossier!"
Well if that is exactly what he said S&F you should be able to fully undersatand irony now.
I care a lot about English cricket but I don't care about all this, and I won't when all sides have had their say either. I can sum it up now, they're all massive egoed elite sportsmen - they're all as bad as each other, they're all arse-holes. I like watching 'em play cricket, will never care much for what comes out if their mouths. I know one thing for sure, we won a lot of stuff when these boys were being so nasty.

fb,
Not at all. KP suggests Prior is a backstabber but he's an alleged England backstabber not a Sussex one. That's good enough for me if Prior regains his fitness, plays for Sussex next season, and helps us win another OD trophy. I am more loyal to Sussex than England, any day.

Don't look now Alastair but there's another of these bloody autograph-hunting wannabes trying to muscle in on the photoshoot! Just pretend he isn't there and you can have a sip of the Big Cheeses's beer when he slings his hook.

Strauss seems to be coming out of this without too much blame, even though he has called him a 'doos' live on air this summer.

Now the ECB are claiming the KP dossier is a fraud the media circus is turning into a 'Carry On' farce. As the ECB may shout, "Infamy, infamy, they've all got it in for me!" and 'Cricinfo' might retort, "(The ECB) is not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy." So, who is responsible for leaking this alleged fraudulent document to the world's most popular cricket website? One imagine's UK editor, David Hopps, is pulling out what hair he's got left right now along with answering a stream of subcontinent phone calls from his superiors who are asking, "Surely, you can't be serious?" And Hopps replies, "I am serious - and don't call me Shirley." Where will this end? Will the ECB now sue 'Cricinfo' as a means of covering their tracks? Does anyone believe the ECB? Or was the misspelling of Al(i)astair Cook's christian name a hint that it was a fraud, although as the Telegraph journalist, Oliver Brown, points out today, when KP received his 100th England cap, the ECB spelt his surname incorrectly. Perhaps, it was all Piers Morgan's doing. Perhaps, he wrote the fraudulent dossier and secretly sent it to 'Cricinfo'. All one can say, is well done to KPs book publishers. They are doing a brilliant marketing job without lifting a finger - sheer elegance. Or as Peter Sellers might say, "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the War Room." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/29531187

The ECB are not claiming the 'dossier' is a fake, s&f - merely that it is not a 'dossier' but "part of a privileged legal email, compiling facts as part of the ECB lawyers' internal due diligence" (whatever that means - still sounds like a dossier by another name to me). But I don't think anyone is denying that it emanates from within the ECB, so there is no need for Mr Hopps to pull his remaining hair out; he has not been burnt by a Sunday Times/Hilter diaries style scam.
When Tom Harrison takes over as the ECB's new CEO, he clearly has a major job on his hands to sort out an organisation that is not fit for purpose.

From the Telegraph: "On Tuesday evening Pietersen held the public launch of his book at the Monastery in Gorton, Manchester, where ECB officials paid entry to a question and answer session and thus managed to get hold of a copy of the book for the first time."
Suitably disguised, one hopes; Paul Downton in false moustache and beard and Giles Clark in high heels and lipstick?

I expect there are a few chuckles down under at our expense but the Aussies needn't feel too sorry for us. For myself, after the unrelenting horror of Ebola and ISIS in recent days this all comes as a welcome bit of light relief. I have ordered my copy and can't wait to curl up with it.
