What I don't want to happen is, Taylor leaves, and then we are told we are looking for a replacement. Let's be a bit more proactive and have a seamless transition, by lining up an overseas all rounder who can step straight in Is Taylor still here? Latham (Kent), Henry (Worcs) and Wagner (Lancs) have already left their counties to join up with the NZ squad in Zim/SA, so I assumed Taylor had departed with them...the first warm-up game of the tour is next week. Is Kula Shaker still here and available for tomorrow night?

Bm,
"Late July" is the phrase used by the Sussex media office for Taylor's departure.

Bm, "Late July" is the phrase used by the Sussex media office for Taylor's departure. That's as big a load of bollox as they have talked about Mustafizur's arrival. The first Test v Zim starts on July 28 and Taylor will be playing in it. Why do Sussex spout this kind of crap??? Do they not realise it just makes the club look as if it doesn't know its arse from its elbow?

Looking at the Sussex fixture list one presumes Taylor's last game will be the RLC one against Gloucestershire away on July 24th. Which means his last home match will be the T20 against Hampshire tomorrow evening.

I'm waiting for today's bulletin, either from the Dhaka media or from the Sussex Disinformation office. Choose from:
"Mustafizur has a bit of a sniffly cold and he won't be able to come out and play today"
"Mustafizur got his visa but the dog ate his passport"
"Mustafizur got to the jetway to get on the plane but he came over all funny and had to go back home and lie down"

Theresa May should have sorted out his visa. Mind you, seeing the shambles at Heathrow passport control last weekend, it's pretty obvious her promotion is not performance-related.

Even if he does eventually turn up it will be too late to make a difference to our T20 or RLC campaigns.
Of more importance is, have we got someone lined up to replace Taylor? We already have four international bowlers in Jordan, Mills, Shahzad and Briggs but once Taylor goes we've only got two proper top order batters in Nash and Wright with only Wright showing any sort of form.

There's a certain Irishman in great form..

Looks thrilled to be here, and the other photos the club tweeted were even glummer
