Somerset IIs all out in 34.2 overs. 3 each for Whittingham, Hatchett and Winslade and one for Beer with his second ball. 5 lbws in the innings.

Excellent positive attacking cricket played by Sussex this morning, and young Whittingham, who so far has 5 wickets, must surely have played himself into contention for the first eleven

Wow what an amazing game, and Sussex run out winners by three runs. Fair play to Somerset, batting fourth, they looked out of it at 27-5, all five wickets to Whittingham, but recovered to post 370, and falling just short. Impressive Sussex performances from FHP and Finch, with the bat, and 9 match wickets from young Whittingham. Great stuff, and well done Sussex Seconds

2nd XI play 2 T20 matches today v Somerset.
I notice that Sam Grant is playing for Somerset. Sussex must have released him because I'm sure he played for our 2's last season.
The other interesting thing is that Whittingham isn't playing, perhaps he's traveling back early to join the squad for Derbyshire?

Whittingham may just be coming back as cover for Shahzad in case he's not fit. |
