Go on then, why Mallorca? That's where I am. Barbecued sardines for lunch. I thought it was another of your obscure references like the heartbreaker for Barnard yesterday. Thanks for clearing that one up and enjoy your lunch.

This is turning into a fairly decent rearguard action from Sussex, but we need to keep it going

Mark Davis presently talking on the 'BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester'. Poor guy, a mic was thrust in front of him just as Brown got out. Mark really is a waggy-tail labrador. His enthusiasm is infectious but still reckons the game isn't over and Worcestershire has a chance to win.
He remains positive about Luke Wright for the Gloucestershire T20 even though Luke himself told Steve Hollis today he wouldn't be fit enough. Mark says Luke will be part of the Sussex squad on Friday and will have a fitness test before the match. All sounds very unlikely to me, yet continues the pattern of Davis and his optimistic 'Cry Wolf'.
A minimum of 28 overs left with Sussex 166 runs ahead with 2 wicket left. This will be a helluva last hour and a half of play if Worcestershire do win.
Edit: Shaking hands in 20 minutes, surely, as Magoffin goes? Sussex are 187 ahead now with 22 possible overs left. 46 points and 6th place after 5 matches?

Not the injury, though that is bad enough, but the fact that captain and coach are not in agreement about how to present ther club to the media. Wasn't there also the episode a few weeks ago where Hollis was Tweeting something based on what Davis had told him, and Wright immediately came back with "That's news to me" or something like that? What will happen when Wright is back in the side and Davis is is saying one thing about strategy and team direction and Luke is following another course? Both guys seem amiable enough, but it looks as if Wright has bit more steel about him, and I would be concerned if this turned into a serious dispute. Is this an indication, perhaps, that in the over-promotion of Greenfield and the rapid bumping-up of Davis Sussex have followed the Peter principle, and turned an excellent No 2 into an over-enthusiastic but under-equipped No 1?

Does this all imply that Lukey and Davo are not communicating properly with each other? Same hymn sheet?

Hhs,
I feel that is a little harsh. I put it down to Davis' natural optimism and enthusiasm and once this whole Wright saga is over and he returns to the fold, then things will settle down.
Wright is his own man, which is great to see, and we have learnt over recent weeks that what Davis says about injuries to players may not be the whole truth. I believe in being honest and being straight down the middle but I don't see anything sinister - just an enthusiastic coach who wants to see his Captain back in the team asap. Yet, Wright knows his body and how it's healing, so the final decision will always come from him.
Meanwhile, a great fightback from Sussex and good to see so many players amongst the runs. Delighted for Finch and his 50.

Perhaps he should say, "I'd obviously like to see Luke back asap, but he knows his own body and how it's healing, so the final decision will always be his. We'll just have to be patient."

Perhaps he should say nothing. He says it best when he says nothing at all.

Well done to Taylor and Machan on finally scoring some runs and to Finch on getting his first championship fifty.

Unbeaten in five - Let's leave that one at that shall we. Good to see some runs for Machan, Finch and Taylor. It will be nice when we start playing in the first innings though, when you're supposed to start. If there's a common theme to this season so far it's under-performing in the 1st innings. Need to wake up to that s**t.
As for Davis, crossed wires and a slow reaction to a balance issue aside, well I don't know how he's started actually. But I like how he's not been stubborn with his wish for five bowlers and I like him playing the youth. Although he had no other options on both counts in truth. He's inexperienced, I know that much. He needs Wright on the pitch more than anyone, I reckon.
