Not having Wright on the pitch a big blow for Davis I would imagine. All new shiny Sussex at the start of the season but then the wheels start coming off, first Wright doesn't play then our OS batsman doesn't perform, then Shahzad and Robinson who were supposed to be match fit obviously weren't, CJ buggers off to the IPL and then Mr Fiz does a U turn, poor bloke must go to bed with everything crossed praying that nothing else goes wrong. All things considered we've done well not to have lost any games.
The positives are that we have 3 youngsters performing well in Finch, Garton and Whittingham who we perhaps wouldn't have seen were it not for Davis being head coach. There are also others performing well in the 2nds who will hopefully be given a chance in our white ball games. Nash and Joyce have found some form and Maggs is as reliable as ever, so it's not all bad?!
