V good answer, nemmo... Sussex deserved to win after a batting performance like that and I don't think Glos would have got within 40 or 50 runs of the target. The D/L margin of a single run(and the fact that Glos would have won if they had managed to knock 5 secs per over off the time it took them to bowl) was a frankly preposterous miscalculation which,as you say, exposes the metrics of D/L as an utter farce.

The slow over rate was completely inexcusable though. The cutoff time was clearly displayed and was even updated yet they still fell short. That is the type of carelessness that will lose you games.

Wright will come back in for the next game for Salt, Finch ( who I think was injured) should come in for Cachopa and I'd bring Garton in for Robinson who hasn't impressed yet this season and could do with a stint in the 2nds with Cachopa.

Agree about Garton for Robinson but there's no way Salt will depart for Wright. Wright will come in for Cachopa and he may even bat at three. Either that or Salt at three.
Gotta sort the lower middle order out and the sooner we pull the plug on Fizz the sooner we can get in someone like Stoinis, who is a big hitter and solid for four overs - the perfect six.
Nash Salt Wright Taylor Machan Stoinis Brown Beer Shahzad Garton/Briggs Mills
That's more like it. Add Jordan and we're up for a Finals Day appearance.

What about Jordan Fraudster? Jordan will come in when Stoinis doesn't turn up!

"Add Jordan" I said. He'll come in for whoever he needs to come in for once he's finished with RCB. That's if the experience doesn't ruin him like it does every other English player who's been out there. They say it'll do players the world of good but the evidence suggests not when you look at players like Morgan, Shah and Bopara. They've got worse, particularly Morgan who has been poor out there again and poor everywhere for ages. Buttler's been ordinary at best with a high score of 41 in 14 matches, even Billings has done better than that in four matches or so.
Stoinis is a suggestion because firstly, he fits the bill perfectly. Secondly, I think he's available now and finally, Fizz don't wanna come for 30 grand anymore as he's done what no English player has ever done and played well at an IPL. Lose him and get a player we actually need who can play in the next game. For the record, Stoinis managed 146 runs in seven matches with a HS of 52, an average of 36.5 and an SR of 135. He took 8 wickets in seven matches at 24 with an economy of 8.4.
We need that type of player, is all.

Indeed it was and they had a car park next to it as well! That said a lot of those sixes would have been big on any ground.

Ben Brown has been reprimanded by the ECB for showing decent when he was dismissed in this match. almost as bad as showing indecent . . . Ha! Presumably this was over the incident in which he appeared to take exception to being stumped off a wide? (I think the ball actually ricocheted back on to the stumps off Bancroft's pads, so a little unlucky but still indisputably out). It would be interesting to ask Brown how many batsmen he has stumped off wides in white ball cricket over the years. A fair number, I would guess, so he has no excuse and probably deserves his reprimand!
