Met Office yellow warning valid up till 22.00 today for much of the South including Southampton:
Heavy showers are expected to redevelop on Friday, organising into slow-moving bands in places, and leading to some torrential downpours. As on preceding days some locations will miss these downpours, but please be aware of possible localised flooding and disruption to travel where they do occur. Lightning could be an additional hazard.
Which could come in handy if there is determination to play Briggs and Cachopa again.

Hamposhire's web marketing of this game is very impressive and informative. Sussex could do worse than take a look at the organisation of their pages and slavishly copy. From the premise of marketing a specific event "El Clasicoast" for the contest between the south coast neighbours, to the series of linked pages - an informative Visitor's Guide , a well-designed and literate Match Preview , a background page of five memorable Hampshire victories over Sussex Sharks at the Ageas Bowl - the whole thing shows class and imagination. By contrast our single page is often published at the last minute and consists of a few trite quotes, a bit of routine hyperbole and a list of names.
The squad excludes Mason Crane but has a few well-known names. Batting looks very powerful, bowling less predicatble but some good combinations could be made from amongst:
Michael Carberry (15) Will Smith (2) Lewis McManus (18) Sean Ervine (7) Adam Wheater (31) Liam Dawson (8) Tino Best (36) Tom Alsop (9) Ryan Stevenson (47) Gareth Berg (13) Gareth Andrew (55) James Vince (14) Captain Darren Sammy (88)

Sussex name the same 15 man squad. And here in full is the deathless prose of the Sussex preview: It's 'take two' for Sussex Sharks this evening in the NatWest T20 Blast as they head to Hampshire to face their South Coast rivals at the Ageas Bowl (7.00pm start).
The Sharks were completely washed out lastnight at Lord's as they were due to take on Middlesex. The toss had taken place but stormy rain from 6pm put paid to any chances of play and the decision to abandon the match was taken at around 8pm.
Both sides take a point each from the washed-out encounter, which leaves Sussex in second spot in the South Group table, behind leaders Glamorgan on only net run rate.
The Sharks have named the same 15-man squad for tonight's match at the Ageas, with former Hampshire spinner Danny Briggs set to face his old county for the first time if selected.

Yes, I've commented on this board before about the Hants game reviews, they are excellent. Sussex take note!
Plus, has anyone else noticed that Sussex are always the last to name their squads?

Teeming down in Hove with overhead thunder and lightening. Is the Ageas Bowl going to be another washout or is the present downpour just localised? www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2637487

Weather is great here in Eastleigh, forecast of a small sunny shower soon, may get a rainbow then. But fine for the game.

Could be tactical rather than inefficient?! Though I have noticed that the team doesn't always seem to be selected from the announced squad. Maybe also tactical?

Match abandoned. Water got under the covers, apparently . . . Not good enough, Sussex should get 2 points. This is a TMG for gods sake! According to Lizzie Ammon the covers came out very slowly and rain got onto the pitch but it's now sunny!

Heard the abandonment announcement literally as I walked into my room at the hotel overlooking the ground! Now sitting in beautiful sunshine looking at a small puddle in the middle of the ground.
