Is it time for us to make the ultimate decision?
Is Will in a glass of his own or is Beerexit now inevitable?
We need a poll!

The club's management appears to be trapped in an unenviable position, and they show no signs of knowing how to get out of it. The price of occupying the board room comfort zone is the responsibility for making the club work properly. I don't think there'll be many volunteers to challenge them at the next AGM - ii might be seen as a poisoned chalice.

Good one-day bowler but not as good as an international one. Beer just hasn't had the chances in the CC and when he has we've had to bowl first on a road. Same goes for Briggs to a much lesser extent and I remember thinking that the Sussex batsmen weren't giving Panesar the best platform to pressurise on quite a few occasions too. Spinners are second innings match winners, generally. It would have to be a bit of a worldy spinner to win us games in this team.

Panesar just wasn't the same bowler with an empty bladder.

Has Will Beer today come of age. Spinners develop late but this, coupled with his recent good second eleven form, is especially timely, as he was due to be out of contract this winter

Just seen the 1st class averages, What a surprise it was to see Wil, 3rd in the list, 15 at just over 11. Danny Briggs, nowhere, 16 at just over 49.
Makes me wonder why he played so few games with figures like that? Lets hope he gets a new contract and a chance to show what he can do in 4 day cricket for Sussex. Davo, take note. I'd hate to see him leave and go elsewhere to get the chance.

Unfortunately all 15 of Beers wickets were taken at Arundel in two matches. 11 against SA (A) and 4 against Leicestershire. I agree Briggs is no better but I don’t think either of them are the answer. If Beer was the answer he would be playing regular first team CC games and we wouldn’t have needed to sign Briggs. As it is I don’t think Briggs has lived up to anyone’s expectations and the fact that he was left out of the last few games when you’d expect the spinners to come into their own on used dusty pitches, says it all.
I’ve said before that if Beer had any ambition to further his career he would have left years ago.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he was released.

Snap him up quick - we need someone to guide Oxley and Collard into the Abyss.
