Forecast looks OK for this one although there's a chance of a shower on Thursday. If I were coach or captain my playing XI would be:
Nash Finch Wells van Zyl Wright Brown (c/wk) Archer Jordan Beer Sakande Garton
But unfortunately I'm neither so I expect Briggs to play instead of Beer and Wiese instead of Sakande.

We need to win and therefore there is no point playing Briggs or Wiese. My XI would be:
Nash Finch Wells Van Zyl Wright Brown (c, wk) Archer Jordan Beer Sakande Garton

Like Archer's batting position in those teams - unfortunately I don't think they've let him go in above 9 so far.

That's the team alright. The penny seems to have dropped with most people on here, hopefully it will finally drop with Davis & Co. If it ain't Sakande it should be Whittingham too. Wiese is alright but is that good enough for a 30 year old overseas? No it ain't. Briggs just ain't gonna get you wickets. Beer may not either but getting eleven in his last four day game suggests he's more likely than Briggs. The bowl-off finally happened and Beer won hands down. Briggs was also left wanting in the last game when it was there to be won.
Hopefully Sussex will wake up and smell the young talent.

Depending on the wicket, I'd be tempted to go with 2 spinners:
Nash Finch Wells Van Zyl Wright Brown (c) + Jordan Beer Archer Briggs Garton
Leaves a choice of Sakande, Whittingham or Wiese to swap for Briggs if the wicket is looking green. However, it does tend to be slow and low at Arundel.

Big week for Sussex Cricket coming up !! Its always an exciting prospect going off to Arundel and the Raithbones Festival should prove to be very popular. Especially as the BBC weather forecast has sunshine 'on point' for most. We have recently beaten the Foxes in a real battle at Grace Road so I send all connections the best of luck Wednesday through Saturday and lets hope for great success on the field and off it.
The Nat West t20 Blast gets underway on Sunday which will send public interest through the roof. The grand old ground will be packed to the rafters !
I will be there Saturday (game situation permitting) and Sunday.
Go Sussex GOSBTS

The squad as written on the Sussex website; Nash, Finch, Wells, van Zyl, Wright, Brown, Jordan, Wiese, Archer, Briggs, Garton, Beer, Sakande.
Looks like a batting line up to me with Beer and Sakande 12th/13th man.

Well, more than one turn-up in the team and order on the card: Nash Wells Finch Van Zyl Wright Brown Jordan Beer Archer Briggs Sakande 30-0 in the 8th over after winning the toss, so presumably a batsman's wicket that Leicester didn't think they wanted to bowl on.

Let's hope we bowl somewhat better than we batted. That looked a poor batting performance even though you're supposed to wait until the other side have batted- at least, that's the opinion of someone near me.

That looked a poor batting performance even though you're supposed to wait until the other side have batted- at least, that's the opinion of someone near me. It looked like under-performing, as so often. Top order scores of 49, 42 and everything south, then last 5 scores beginning 34, 25, 20 suggest that. An interesting, even adventurous bowling attack will have plenty to get their teeth into - after the rainstorms.

Woeful batting performance from Sussex undermined by very poor shot selection with Wells, Wright, Brown, Jordan, Beer and Archer all guilty of chucking their wickets away.
We need to get Cosgrove and Ackerman out early tomorrow or 262 will be reached with ease.

The top order failings continue to undermine us Meanwhile, Robson gets another ton for the seconds, as his "extended trial" continues.

I've not looked at the stats but my perception is that Finch gets nought or fiftyish. Too many got out when they should have got more today. Jordan batted as well as anyone and may have got a harsh decision. We really need a captain that opens and is reliable. We seem to have faltered a few times this year when scoring at 4 or so per over but with wickets falling regularly. Oh for a boring ton.
Sorry, bit of a brain dump post three post match beers!

The top order failings continue to undermine us Meanwhile, Robson gets another ton for the seconds, as his "extended trial" continues. With the greatest of respect runs in the seconds counts for very little due to the vast gulf in quality. He failed to produce the goods for Leicestershire and was released because of this. I have seen it so many times that someone comes on trial, scores stacks of runs in the seconds only to then fail in the firsts. Christian Davis only last year score 258, played a couple of games for the firsts and was then released. If we sign another opener it needs to be someone of proven quality.
