I hope that's funny HH, otherwise it's a bit petty to pick someone up on a tyypo. We know why Glammy have picked what they've picked. I would never wanna see a Sussex side with that much inexperience. Beer's 28, Finch and Whittingham 23. Garton would be the one actual youngster I would be playing. I agree re Garton, if nothing else it gives us a variation being a left-armer. Unfortunately I can't see our Kolpak coach dropping his Kolpak signings. Davis isn't and wasn't a Kolpak.

I thought we took our foot off the gas today against a weak opposition. Meschede batted well, to be fair. We looked comfortable batting but still managed to lose three wickets whilst Glamorgan played and missed regularly, except for the 100+ partnership, but achieved a decent total. We still ought to win but if things go wrong early tomorrow we will be kicking ourselves. I don't expect Glamorgan to score so many second time around but they could still win this game as it stands. Good to see Ollie R bowl well and economically - it's been easy to forget that he's a very good player. Good to see Robson look in good touch. There's a ton there for the taking but with two serious ton contenders back in the hut, there's still plenty of work to do.
The big quiz question is - who will bat no 11?

He already has done that this season Joe 🙈 van Zyl has played every CC game, Wiese all but 2. Weise played every OD game. Garton hasnt played any CC games this season.

After such high expectations for this match, a batting collapse leading to 109-5, is now followed by a fragile recovery from Nash and Brown.
Thank God for Gnasher. The last month has seen him battling away in a one-man swashbuckling show. Now we need a 200 run 6th wicket partnership to pull us out of this self-inflicted morass.
Presently, 139-5.
PS: I am becoming increasingly worried about Wright. What on earth has happened to his form? He's not even Captain anymore. Wright may even decide he needs another county next season to rediscover his cricketing 'Joie de Vivre'.
edit: I hate goatmouths!

It won't matter Frawdy against Glamorgan's Z team. This must be the weakest XI in the history of world cricket. Where does that leave Sussex in the standings?

Who replaced the featherbed with a mine field? Could have waited til Friday.
We should have tried to bat when the sun was shining. That's the golden rule ain't it? Yesterday was the best day and the last day is forecasted as the worst. Bat first dumb-arse.
Too many comfy 30+ year olds, not enough hungry talented yoots.

"I think calling this a first team fixture is a joke. It should not be first class. Sussex should not be charging for entry or parking." unofficialsussexccc.freeforums.net/post/25423/threadThat was before an innings win. Perhaps we should all wait with our opinions to see how the rest of the game develops.

Long way to go. Glamorgan will bat again today, so by the evening we'll see where we are.
My problem is Wiese. No wickets and when his side needs him, no runs. It's not just this comp it's been the same in T20. Remember Middx at Lords?
Sorry but Greenfield needs to step in here, over ride Davis and pay Wiese off. He has been one of the poorest overseas players I can remember Sussex signing. No doubt someone with better recent history will find another!
I'm with Liquidskin, more homies. Young players from U10 in the county structure need to have the dream they can play for Sussex. If they have the feeling that you only play if you're an import, they'll give up the dream. So important for youngsters to have a dream.

60 odd for 1 at tea was disappointing. Ollie R beat the bat several times without luck. It all changed after tea as wickets tumbled - Jordan, Robinson and Archer all bowled well. If we can shift Meschede early, a positive outcome is on the cards. Also, brilliant catch by Jordan and a tidy one by Robson. Ben Brown has done very well too.

Kolpak, foreign by any other name? Just a political farce of a system.
He can't play for England, therefore he's an overseas player. He's not qualifying. Will he go back to SA in the winter to play out there? You bet he will.
All he's done is renounced playing for SA to come here and earn a big 3 year pay cheque.
Wake up to the reality. He's stopping an English qualified player playing. Look what Robinson has done, 1st game, eclipsed Wiese. So what's his value to the side? We have enough young(ish) English quick, medium bowlers who bat. Why a thirty + overseas?
I continue to say it, if they come from another country to play, they have to win games, if they don't, they're not worth having. Plenty in Sussex can play and not win games!

Sussex CCC are currently involved in a thoroughly competitive and enjoyable Specsavers County Championship match at Colwyn Bay North Wales. Hosts Glamorgan CCC might well have the T20 Blast finals days on their radar but they are playing very well in this game. Its making for tough progress as Sussex chase down a win towards division two promotion in late September.
Glamorgan had the better of things for much of the first day and a half but a 77 and 3 catches from Skipper Ben Brown have put Sussex in charge going into day three. His inns underpinned a much needed revival after the top order stuttered to 136 for 6. Jofra Archer, with family watching on, hit 27 not out batting at 11.
Oliver Robinson is having a brilliant game taking three for 29 as the hosts seem to be wobbling at the close 126 for 6. Sussex fielding was on point with Brown taking three great catches behind and Angus Robson taking a world class catch for Chris Jordan.
It all adds up to a promising day in store on Wednesday. The weather looks fine and dry as Glamorgan start at 11 am. There is a feeling around the ground that this game will finish a day early.
Lets see!

209 to win. Perhaps, the biggest test of the Sussex batting this season. Adrian Harms says, "They will be very disappointed if they don't win from here." First ball, Wells goes for a golden. Oh dear! All the Sussex demons will rear their ugly heads in the coming hours.
