In theory we start our next game tomorrow but it might be Thursday before it’s dry enough to get underway. There’s still hope of winning promotion but the weather may be the deciding factor.

I fancy us to win inside 3 days here, Derby not a lot to play for and the biggest IF it may be but if Ollie and Jaydev to take the new ball together i fancy a rout.

Yep, this game has draw written all over it. We need to secure as many bonus points as we can from this game as it looks as if the whole country will be affected by the weather.
Will we see Robinson for this one or has he still got a poorly finger 😂
I believe Pujara and Unadkat play their last game. Wouldn’t mind having them both back next year but do question whether Pujara is captain material?

We dont have nay options for captaincy as it stands.
Maybe thats a bargaining tool for a potential new player.

We’ll be lucky to get even 2 days worth of play judging by the weather forecast for Derby. On the positive side, Robinson should get another couple of days for his finger to heal 😗

Oh dear oh dear!
ECB has come down hard on Sussex for their conduct during the Leicestershire match.
A deduction of 12 points ( bye bye any hopes of promotion ) and suspension of Pujara for one match. Sussex have also suspended Haines, Carson and Karvelas for their part in it for this match.

Looks like we’ll be the ones relieved it’s going to be a rain shortened match then.
Here’s the squad: Alsop (c), Carter (wk), Clark, Coles, Crocombe, Currie, Foreman, Hudson-Prentice, Hunt, Ibrahim, Orr, Unadkat, Ward
I guess Foreman is likely to play with Ward and either Currie or Hunt missing out.

It really does sum this season up. Never been a big lover of Carson, attitude issues clearly. In what will be an interesting XI whatever I would go. Orr Clark Alsop Ward Coles Carter Ibrahim Hudson-Prentice Foreman Unadkat Currie I dont think this will be the team but id rather see some opportunity given.

A sad day for Sussex. What on earth was going on in the Leicestershire match? Any outside chance of promotion has now completely gone. Gutted.

….and surprise surprise no Robinson. Even ive reached the who gives a f**k stage now. If Robbo goes he goes so be it but let us know wtf is actually going on. I'll want us to win as always but for me I'm more interested in seeing what players like Ward and Foreman can do at this level currently. Also where the f**k is the CEO when did we last hear from him?

Another month of the season, another *** up. The Sussex way.
Worcs have been consistently strong this season and are deserving of that second promotion spot. All the best to them next season.
We are not ready for Division 1, simple as that. Despite Farbrace's pre season optimism and talk of promotion and white ball trophies, I think (based on his tone in interviews) the realisation started to hit him during the One day cup that he has some very bad players here who are simply no use to us. Cannot keep flogging dead horses, hence why he spoke of needing experience a few weeks ago.
Also wouldn't surprise me if the Leics match was the last we see of Pujara. With the centrally contracted England bowler who is also the stepson of the coach who will now be referred to as 'sicknote' unlikely to sign a new deal, and having seen the impact of overseas bowlers this season with McAndrew, Shipley and Unadkat, it wouldn't shock me at all if the club wanted 2 overseas bowlers throughout the season for 2024. I'd be gutted if that was the case re Pujara. A Sussex great, imperious player.
The points deduction does take the pressure off us for these final 2 matches now, which is something I guess. I think ab's team is more or less what we'll see, perhaps Ward slightly further down the order to have more of a licence to play shots and attack. Least we can hope for is that they are still up for it and put in a performance. Some players are playing for their careers.

Ive seen nothing to suggest he will or wont sign a new deal. Everyone over thinks the overseas players, you fet the best 2 players you can for the longest period of time you can get them. For arguments sake Smith and Pujara are available all summer next season you'd snap them up in a heartbeat. I cant see Shipley being re-signed considering he was dropped for his last appearance. Going on the Chairmans comments last week I see it being a combo of McAndrew and Undatkat in and around Pujara who wont be playing for India.
