If he has signed then I would assume it’ll be a white ball only contract and hopefully a pay-as-you-play one.

If true, strange we got rid of Stuart Whittingham and then sign a player with a worse injury record.

Not sure if this lad is quality but our seam bowling resources are at rock bottom with Archer and Jordan away with England and Robinson and Sheffield injured. Dizzy seems to like him, not sure that’s a good endorsement either!

Never heard of him but quite often these players shine when given opportunities. Good luck to him!

Did Barnes bowl a ball in anger for us? Missed it if he did

Not to my knowledge, a couple of appearances for the seconds, where he did OK

Short term, we really need someone, and Chopra is an experienced opener. In the longer term, we really need to resolve our top order issues with a bit more quality

Adding quality to the top order, still remains a priority for me. We should have brought in an overseas batsman at the start of the season, most of us could see that our batting was woefully short of what’s needed. Without writing off the likes of Evans, Finch and Haines, they need to do a lot more before they can hope to justify a place in the starting eleven. We have only one class batsman in the top order, and that Van Zyl, who has his own issues. That was never going to be good enough, despite what the coach may say
