As we have done for a long time. By my working we have just Evans and Rawlins as championship batting cover, if the story about Burgess is true. Basically, we lost Nash last winter and Wright and Burgess since the start of this season. Have to bring in a batsman, but can’t be overseas until Hamsa’s spell ends.

Sad to see Garton injured again, but maybe people will now understand why he still doesn’t get risked for 4-day cricket. Nothing to do with being anti-homegrown players, our batting line-up should prove that.

We got the middle-priced option! Happy with that though. Less so with our championship options for the Middlesex game. Just 15 players available, and half a dozen of those are completely out of form |
