That's funny. There's no pleasing Jonboy Newbie, unless you sign the eleven best players in the world, wherever the hell they're from. Me? I'm the easy going one. Three bang average players would be an improvement Think Dizzy must be the only person in cricket, who believes our top order is as good as any in the division He's said that? If so there's clear reasoning to believe the man is an imbecile. With Salt, who isn't a top three bat rather a very talented player who can score anywhere, we have an ordinary top three. Without him, with Wells in probably a three season long downward spiral and a leg spinner in there, we have nothing. Finch is also a concern but I don't think he's a top three bat either. All this is the inevitable result of serious playing staff neglect, which has come from Andrew. Financial security and ground improvement is his spec and he's not ashamed to say it. The playing side have nothing except a supposedly good coach. It's all come from Andrew.

So, where does The Hundred draft leave Sussex when the team competes in the RLODC? On paper, the batting looks OK. As for the bowling, we maybe need to hope that the RLODC has a rule change so that Ollie Robinson can bowl 25 overs from one end. The team looks something like this:
Luke Wells Tom Haines Stiaan van Zyl Travis Head Harry Finch Ben Brown Will Beer Ollie Robinson Aaron Thomasson +2 others

Batting only looks OK in terms of SVZ and Head for me. Wells and Brown are better suited to 4 day cricket, Haines is untested and Finch has been dire for 15 months!

I suppose my point (not that I made it) was that on paper the team doesn't look as bad as it might given the fact that 11 of our players have been snapped up by The Hundred draft. As for keeping the opposition's score down, Will Beer and Ollie Robinson will have to bowl 10 maidens.

Don’t bank on having Travis Head for the 50 over comp, I’m pretty sure OS can’t play in it next year.

Are the ECB going to give the RL 50 in 2020 Lust A status ? If they are, it is a joke. If not , just play academy players and anyone in need of practise.

Robinson and Thomason are both medium-fast. Why would Sheffield be a possible player? He’s contracted so would almost certainly play. Apart from that you’ve got everything right!

I reckon it will pretty much be a Sussex League team. Not all of those not playing in the hundred, will be available, there are always fitness issues at this time of the year

My comments are for Sussex Championship cricket. I am one who thinks sides we have put out for last 2 games is a joke. All for giving youngsters experience but with so many in a side does no good. 2 other county castoffs and others just out of school who havent even produced at 2nd team level. Wells,Evans,Beer,Briggs etc not deemed good enough These together with Haines and Finch have made no improvement in Gillespie tenure. Wright after preparing himself ,instead of given first 3/4 games was not picked and was fortunate to tell him what to do. With our lack of experience of course Wells should have been given first 2 games. Have already mentioned lack of improvement but what about coaching and guidance given to players. Rawlins today batting 6 and 100 behind on a great batting track. Appreciate defending when bowled but no application and looked like he was playing 20/20 Covid cannot be used as an excuse. We have known for a long time Archer would be absent. Unlucky with Robinson but how long would he stay fit as our only bowler. With lack of interest Jordon showed to 4 day also no loss. After we were told Bopara was signed to play all forms how is he now allowed to say only wants to play red ball Sorry but Gillespie has achieved nothing. Best side nearly always wins in 4 day cricket. In 20/20 anyside with Salt,Wright,Evans,Robinson plus 2 outstanding overseas is always in with a chance and it this he is interested in Next game hope Wells,Evans back Also Briggs even just to try and block an end up
