Whatever there is in the pitch Robinson will extract and I expect young Carson to play a major part. Sussex’s to lose from here you’d think.

Did we miss a trick? We wasted the last 11 overs scoring 17 runs. We could have declared had nine overs at them tonight taken a couple of wickets, taken a couple of wickets in the morning and have been well on our way to victory.

As said, couldn't have expected more. Almost all performed well or better than expected. George Garton really deserved the ton, particularly after his average performance with the ball yesterday.
Although it's so far only been 6 days in, almost everyone has delivered to some degree this season. They seem to be really enthusiastic and enjoying their cricket. Some credit to Salisbury for the positive change of attitude maybe due.
Hoping we are going to end up a better side than the sum of our parts.

Well done Sussex. A decent first innings lead was in doubt at one stage. George Garton showed great mental toughness. Is he future captain material? He bowled rubbish, and then put it right with the bat. At the moment, and of course it is early days, both Brown and Rawlins need to show better 4 day batting application. Brown is a decent 4 day batter and keeper; but not an astute captain. Rawlins is a bit of an enigma. If he can't occupy the crease, give a chance to someone that can. Keep going tomorrow lads and knock Glamorgan over.

211 for 1 at lunch. Good to see Stiaan van Zyl score an unbeaten half century. Meanwhile, the Tom Haines roadshow carries on. Maybe, bowling out Glamorgan for 285 was a better performance than we realised. I knew it. I didn't wanna say anything though as I prefer to talk in hindsight, when you're definitely right. It's a featherbed and we bowled well, it's safe to say. Batting well too, not used to this. Looking at the batting line-up, sticking Head and Salt at four and five with this top three is looking interesting. Isn't Thomason an all-rounder though? In hindsight, I think we should have played two spinners, now. Although we have Del Boy. I predict a big win, eight or nine wickets, thanks to the spin twins and some early Ollie. Gotta beat Glammy if we wanna be slightly above average.

Aaaaggghhhh!!! Let them back in here, was hoping for 450 to really put them under some pressure🙁 Your wish was a good one!
Great position for Sussex.
459 - 6. Couldn't have hoped for better.
Indeed!!😀👍 I was still sort hopeful we might, but not very hopeful!

Yes Thomason was an all-rounder when he joined us, but we’re clearly keen to develop him into an opener, which kind of increases the depth to our batting options. Good job really, as with Salt injured, we actually wouldn’t have had another batsman to play. Two decent scores from him already this year, with Haynes in early good form too. Van Zyl’s knock is a huge one really as was pinning a lot of hope on him and Head. Looked in imperious form as well.

So, will Ben Brown declare overnight or tell Robinson to play this morning "like it's T20 2009?"

That was a complete and utter waste of a time. Why did we not declare last night when Garton was out? The last thing Glamorgan would have wanted to do was bat last night.

That was a complete and utter waste of a time. Why did we not declare last night when Garton was out? Agreed. That was nonsense. Crocombe has score a hundred in County U18s. If you're going to bat on, take a single Robinson, no need to protect him. Another example of confused thinking. I know it's only a small issue but Brown needs to send good clear messages to his players. Now bowl them out Sussex!!

What is it about Ollie and LBWs? Excellent start.
Glamorgan 30-2

Keep going Sussex. Umpires happy to give LBWs when ball pitching outside leg. Feel a bit sorry for Billy Root, that decision was a shocker. Better from Brown with more agressive field placing. However Glamorgan are 63 for 3.

However, umpires should be extra diligent with ball pitching for right arm over to LHB and left arm over to RHB. There already have been 15 LBWs in this match.
