With an unusual name like Tymal who's going to come up with a nickname for Sussex that sticks? Flymo is my suggestion - any others? I think Flymo is a great suggestion, especially if he bowls a lot of cutters..........I'll get my coat If only David Boon had cricket playing offspring: what a romantic pair of opening bowlers they would make

Be careful what you wish for! Mills entire reputation is based on a televised match against England when he bounced Swann amongst others. This will have been the only time most journalists will have seen him as they never watch division two county cricket. His statistics are very moderate. He has never taken five wickets in an innings and has an awful injury record. Most on the unofficial Essex board are quite happy to see the back of someone they put on a par with Maurice Chambers who has hardly set Northampton alight. Of course a new county may alter things but if he does miraculously improve then England will snap him up as they are desperate for a left armer. I was at that game on the day in question, cheering for Mills to stick it up Swann (much to the annoyance of the numerous England fans around me). I've seen Mills in action in the flesh maybe half a dozen times and I'd agree that the England game was the only occasion where he looked the business. Too often gets carried away with the obvious joy of being able to ping it down at breakneck pace. At Canterbury last season, he began quite well, dislodging the well-set Nash with a nasty riser...but then Darren Stevens took the attack to him and he looked lost. If there's a left-arm seamer at Essex to covet, it's Topley (although he seems almost equally prone to knocks). Of course, I'd be delighted if he can turn it around at Sussex. In terms of experience, he's still pretty young.

I'm sure most Surrey supporters felt the same about Jordan. Robinson has a knack of spotting raw seamer talent. He's on a flyroll, at present. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAV-s11PJrw

My sisters, who were admiring Mills a little too obviously as he strolled around the boundary at Canterbury last season, would probably suggest he be nicknamed 'Peaches'.

I was going to suggest Tymal Fixit, but the association is unfortunate . . .

The warm October sunshine has brought all the comedians out today, hasn't it? Haven't you got an allotment to go and dig on a nice sunny day like this, hh?
