Think you’re right Flash. Can’t see any of the England players with young families wanting to go out there with the restrictions as they are at present and no guarantee of them changing. The Australian states seem to be making it up as they go along. Tim Paine is on record saying the Ashes will go ahead no matter what, might be difficult if there’s no oppo!
One solution is to pick primarily a B team as we did v Pakistan in the summer but that would undermine the integrity of the greatest sporting event in the world. If we can’t go full strength then we shouldn’t go at all.

Spot on fellas, don't give up your day jobs, if you have any. You wanna try being right all the time like me.
I am bewildered... bewildered, that Dom Bess has a place in this squad. What they see in this non spinning slow bowler who can barely take a wicket for Yorkshire let alone England is... you guessed it, below me. I mean beyond me.
I see Stokes has enjoyed his full paid extended holiday so much that he wants it to continue. Finger surgery? Should have had that three months ago.

Probably. You and me could bowl Sussex out, once our brilliant top three were gone.
Bess is a pudding. A Yorkshire pudding. Australia will eat him alive, if he even plays. We really should be looking at Parkinson or Crane. They're actual spinners.

We really should be looking at Parkinson or Crane. They're actual spinners. Have to agree. Parkinson is very slow but he’s one of those bowlers who just seems to take wickets. Crane was put to the sword last time but is much improved. Both of them would do a better job than Bess. Even Briggs would be better.

Id take Briggs, the ability to hold up an end is crucial over there. Taking leg spinners as your only spinner carries a lot of risks.

Interesting to see Mitchell Starc in the announcement of Australia’s X1 for the first Test refer to Travis Head as having “churned out runs in England”. As the Royal Family would say, recollections may vary. In any event, we congratulate Travis on his selection. This first Test will have quite a Sussex dimension to it with Head, Carey and hopefully Robinson trying to get them out.

Sorry, I meant Pat Cummins…it’s a bit early.

Australia have a big mistake leaving out Khawaja who averages 97 opening the batting for Australia.

Good to see Stokes back. Interesting that Ollie Pope is preferred to Bairstow. Sounds like a sensible move - Bairstow has often looked vulnerable at Test level.

The right choice I think, I'd play Bairstow if we could have 2016 YJB but he hasn't made a test century in 3 years now.
