They don't. Always. Right now maybe. One day cricket has engulfed our game, domestically and internationally, in short. Lees and Yates are the Lions openers, whoever they are. Foakes just scored 70 odd for the Lions and Buttler has been so bad behind the stumps it's unquestionable that Foakes would be an improvement there. Burns and Hameed are in by default, as is Malan. We have no spinners, two old men opening the bowling and a keeper who couldn't catch a cold. We're in bits. Silverwood must go. Root is a great player but a poor captain. Best one-day sides though. We're gonna lose 5-0. I would oversee a massive overhaul right now, big names in now and all out attack. Nothing to lose. Roy Crawley Malan Root Stokes Livingstone Bairstow Ali Robinson Broad Wood Ali has retired from test cricket. You're just a wrecking ball aren't you Sharkey. What do you think to that team for the last three tests though? You in? Stick Rashid or Crane or Parkinson in instead of Ali if it's more realistic. Anyone but the two spinners we do inexplicably have there. |

I like the idea of Livingstone in the team, I’d also give Saqib Mahmood a go (both are in Oz at the moment playing in the Big Bash)

Livingstone needs to do more in the Championship to earn a slot. |

I like the idea of Livingstone in the team, I’d also give Saqib Mahmood a go (both are in Oz at the moment playing in the Big Bash) To me this is making the same mistake we used to make with the ODI team, putting test specialists in instead of white ball specialists. Livingstone needs to do more in the Championship to earn a slot. Livingstone averages 38 in the championship with 7 100’s. Buttler averages 32 as does Hameed. Livingstone is superb in the field and can bowl offspin and legspin. |

Livingstone is superb in the field and can bowl offspin and legspin. Repalcing Average with Average isnt going to work, i cant see Livingstone digging in for the long innings you need. I dont doubt he's an excellent white ball cricketer but he isnt part of the solution in this side in my opinion |

The Livingstone thing, obviously won't happen. I would though, just on character. And others, like Roy. The point is there's nothing to lose, we are gonna get battered. Never mind digging in for the long innings, nobody can, so don't. Attack, hard. Trick Roy and Livingstone into thinking it's a 50 over game and off you go. If they bat like it's a test match, yeah, waste of time. Just nothing to lose though, and that's it, so be ultra aggressive. Hameed, the dullard, averaged 25 in his last eleven CC matches for Notts so I've no idea what he was brought in on anyway - other than the default ticket, which all our top three are riding on. We lost two home series before this, and the away one before that. If this isn't a Morgan/one-day/world cup moment nothing is. Gotta act. |

Correct Sussex did need to do that and they're 2 years in to the process. Brown may be a loss but we've a far better replacement in the short term in Rizwan and hopefully in the longer term it will allow Ollie Carter to develop in that role. Flashblade - Yes just as captain but he needs to front up a bit more and be brave enough to take on the tricky number 3 slot. |
