I fearfor Tom Haines sanity, and the supporters. Struggling to find anything to be optimistic about. I feel sorry for friends who've travelled to Worcester to sit in the cold through this dire performance

Success seems a concept beyond reach for the current set-up. Meanwhile we can remember the capabilities of those who have left us, in come cases as a clear result of choices made by the management, as we look at the “success” being enjoyed by messrs Brown (two centuries for Div 1 Hants), Wells (in the runs and contract extended by Div 1 Lancs) and Burgess (two huge centuries for Div 1 Warwickshire). Those were the days my friends….will they ever return?

Which would you have rather have left?

Give it a rest Andy. You’d have to be mad to think that getting stuffed all the time is progress and part of “the process”. Or alternatively, just stop your wind-up.

And the icing on the cake? Sussex deducted one point for slow over rate!

Turn it in John, I remember 1997 where I used to worship amir Khan because he bowled leg spin and played for us. I will support this team win lose or draw.

Now are you just taking the piss.
So do I - remember Amir Khan in 1997 and will also support the team. And it’s because of that passion that I - and many others - are rightfully annoyed with the way our club is being run and the subsequent performances and results. Being a supporter doesn’t mean meekly accepting and applauding everything that goes on as we plunge to the depths of being the worst side in the country.
But then you know all that because you’re only on here to stir it up.

No wind up at all. You dont like me never have and that's fine but at least I've I've been true to myself and don't follow the crowd

There is no crowd to follow. Only passionate Sussex supporters dismayed at the poor decision making of the club management in the past few seasons, and the unacceptably poor results on the field that have followed as a direct consequence of many of those decisions.

They look like poor decisions but contracts were offered to ALL of those players except Wells. We are hamstrung by budgets.

Heard an interview from your head honcho IS.
None of the injured bowlers back for the Durham game. Grant Stewart being recalled by Kent!
Robinson should be back. Wonder if you will get another loan signing?

Things are getting pretty desperate. Our chances of putting out a competitive team are looking like slim to none.. As for the reallab1’s comment regarding contracts being offered to all the players who’ve left except Wells, has it not occurred to him that players have been alienated by the changing nature and culture of the club and the lack of value placed on experience. What we wouldn’t give to still have even two our three of the players who have voted with their feet in the past two seasons. If you make judgments about players such as “not really a red ball player” (eg Briggs), no wonder he wants to leave. And lo and behold, he’s now very much a red ball player at a Div 1 team that are doing well. And if you take away the gloves from a player like Ben Brown, and he’s now welcomed with open arms as keeper by our Div 1 neighbours (and scoring big runs for fun!), you have to reach a conclusion as to whose judgment is the more sound. And when I last looked the Sussex reject Wells has settled in very well at his Div 1 home and Salt is keeping wicket and playing an important role in red ball cricket for the same county. You ask us to have faith in the current set-up, but on the basis of much of the flawed decision making that is asking the impossible. Never in the history of the club have we been left with such a threadbare bowling attack.

At the moment we don’t even deserve FCC status.
It’s an embarrassment and I’ve had enough!! Yes I’ll support my team but we as supporters don’t deserve to be watching this week in week out. ANDREW / GREENFIELD OUT!!!!
