The use or lack of use Clark may not be a decision made by Haines. I wonder if he only bowls with cloud cover. #justwonderingnotsaying

Clark has had knee trouble in the past and so needs to be carefully managed.

Session 1 79-6 Sessions 2-12 1,046-17
Please can we get a Head groundsman who knows how to prepare a proper cricket wicket rather than this road!

2 bang average attacks though cover point. Durham missed Rushworth and your mob Robinson. It will be interesting if the wicket is more bowler friendly v Middx. If it is Afridi and Roland Jones could go through your batting like a dose of salts.

If it is Afridi and Roland Jones could go through your batting like a dose of salts. You could have had Garton, Robinson, Archer, Finn and Carson and the result would have been no different. There were only 17 wickets in 11 sessions. That is the flattest pitch I have seen at Hove in 30 years of watching cricket. It is the sort of pitch which gives county cricket a bad name. It does nothing to assist in producing test cricketers. A good wicket should give help to batsmen and bowlers. Hopefully the Head groundsman can resuscitate the Hove wicket. However, given the strength of the Middlesex team I suspect it will be another Hove wicket which is as flat as a pancake. To the cricket management we won't get promoted with 12 draws so we will need to produce a result wicket at some point during the season. I think they are only producing this pitch because they have no confidence in winning.

If we're producing flat tracks with strong batting and weak bowling it's yet another sign of clueless management. It's the wrong way round and that too ain't *** rocket science. Countless stupid decisions, another being wasting money on a spinner who seemingly can't do any more than Lenham or Rawlins. What's the point? Although on the track, we bowled them out for 200 just after the groundsman last got his hands on it. What's that about?
If we haven't got bowlers back we need to leave some on, it's as simple as that. I have zero faith in decision making throughout the club though - captain, coach, grounders, CEO, director & Gordy. Zero faith. I assume if we finally sack Greenfield all those issues will be resolved as he's clearly doing everything.

Crane was good enough to represent England at test and T20 level and has over 250 wickets at county level across all three formats which puts him ahead of Lenham and Rawlins. Sacking Greenfield won't achieve anything if the financial constraints set by Rob Andrew are still in place

Let me ask you this then CP, if you got Greenfield's job six months ago would everything be the same as it is now? It wouldn't be if I got it, whether the money man was there or not.
I've wanted Andrew out since before he got his feet under the table cos he made his intentions very clear immediately. He's succeeding somewhat in what he set out to do - cut the wage bill massively, build a successful T20 side and completely forgo the county championship.

Things would be no different if Chris Adams or Matt Prior were doing Keith Greenfield's job if Rob Andrew remains at the helm.

Only if they didn't do the job properly. There's more than one way to skin a cat Sharkey. For instance, can you get a OS bowler for 4 weeks for the price of 4 loans?
