If Orr had been caught on 0 in the first innings and Alsop had been caught on 0 in the second innings Middlesex would already have won this game. I'm a bit confused? Do you want us to lose? Agreed, you can't draw that conclusion. If Orr had gone second ball of the match, whose to say Alsop wouldn't have still got a century or that Pujara, Clark, Rizwan or Garton wouldn't have batted differently and made higher scores? Likewise, if Alsop had been caught second time around for nought we still had batters including Pujara, so the outcome was in no way a foregone conclusion. The same argument applies if we had held our catches and/or Simpson had been given out lbw cheaply. Middlesex may have still scored over 300, maybe even more. In all scenarios the odds would have shifted, but you cannot make a conclusion that we would have inevitably lost. Your posts always seem very negative.

Pujara is the new Muzza. What a player! 4th 100 in 4 matches.
Another 100 runs in the first session tomorrow then let Ollie lose on them, a real chance of a win.
GOSBTS!

You don’t decimate a whole squad just to bring in one quality overseas, however good he is!

I was merely trying to point that Middlesex have also missed big opportunities. Your previous post suggested that Sussex would have won had they taken their chances. The same can be said of Middlesex.

Pujara has been our best signing since Murray Goodwin.
Robinson makes a huge difference to this team.
Well done to Alsop for his performance with the bat in this game.
We should be looking to set Middlesex 375 off 75 overs tomorrow.

No I don't. I was arguing Devon Exile point that had we taken our chances Sussex would have won. The same could be of Middlesex. Both sides have failed to take their chances in this game.

375 off 75 overs? You may not want us to lose but clearly you'd prefer a draw - very defensive target, that's 5 an over. They just ain't gonna chase that. If we bat for more than 10 overs we're fools. Should be aiming for about 350 off 85 or so. Even that's on the cautious side.
Devo, Alsop has done well lately and he's here, so I wish him well. But I will never support the use of loans in cricket because it means your progression plan is flawed. Clark got his chance and as done well - he wouldn't have got it if the OS were available first game cos Alsop would have been there. Let alone Carter.
I know a good player when I see one and Carter is exactly that. And like a few on here are beginning to realise, and I only realised myself about 3 days ago so I'm not trying to be a smarty-pants, Carter could be doing Rizwan's job to free up space for a much needed OS bowler. The club need to look at this Phillipe signing again. Need to wise up on that cos without Robinson or someone similar I'm not sure we can win a game.
Why don't you, Gordy, credit Pujara with the performances not Greenfield. Anyone can sign Pujara, he's not at IPL, he was looking for a county, and there were many better options if they wanted him. They went on his county record, which ain't great. Luckily for us he's flipped it on its arse, going great guns. Maybe he's finally adapted to English conditions or maybe we're all playing on featherbeds, who cares. Fact is, it's virtually sod all to do with Greenfield that the man's doing well.
So Gordy, will you acknowledge that you are related to Greenfield? I know you are a reasonable bloke - albeit completely one sided and clearly in cahoots.

I really don't get it, dumb tactics and dumb commentators wondering what balance we should have. You're stupid. We need 80 runs off 8/10 overs, it's the only option. Who cares if we're bowled out in ten as long as we've got at least 50/60, and probably more. Give yourself every chance to win, idiots.

We are leaving balls and playing defensive shots. We should be literally trying to smash every ball out the park. We have 7 wickets and about ten overs. I'm spitting blood here, isn't this obvious. Commentator is a fool, saying Pujara has every right yo take his time, to say Nobody is losing time. You're an idiot. Go home idiot.
Spitting I tell ya!

I've just thrown myself out of the top floor of my massive house and I didn't feel a thing. Didn't work though, spitting still.

28 in 6.2. Pathetic. We should have 50, shot a ball. Led by morons. I wonder if anyone on here will get it?

Mr Liquid is right. We need to smash some quick runs, and get Middlesex back in asap. Now White has gone injured, we have a real chance. Get on with it Sussex!!
