Assuming we hold out for the draw, we are going to win this game on points. Moral victory, eh?

Leicestershire have declared. Sussex have got to survive at least 62 overs.

I see you boys have trips to Trent Bridge and Lords coming up. IS and JK will have to come up with a loan signing bowler!!

I would be less than truthful if I pretended not to being somewhat nervous once they declared at lunch, given our past history on being able to capitulate.
However, without wanting to tempt fate at 75-0 after 15 overs the outcome now looks a formality.
They might aswell shake hands now and put us out of our misery.
Please can someone have a word with the ground staff ahead of our next home match. This is just not good viewing.

Rawlins now holds the record for the most expensive bowling figures in the CC. Will that be mentioned in the Bermuda Times? I suspect not!

I’m not sure Magoffin, Ishant, Archer and Robinson would have taken 20 wickets on this track. We might not have conceded seven hundred and whatever though.

Overall another draw with the exception of Finn showed up the major weakness of the squad, big plus there's players have grown into a cohesive batting unit helped along by pagura and Rizwan we need the focus by I.S during the winter the bowling if he's retained.

Well done Sussex. Though I did despair this morning. Our bowling was utter rubbish. Decent draw on a flat track. Two tough away games coming up. These might show us where we are with our progress. Can we strengthen our bowling? Hats off to Finn; he put in a real shift and must be knackered. What I really like was how he encouraged the youngsters when needed. Watch and learn Haines. Agree with another poster on here that some of these youngsters need to be given upgraded contracts if Sussex want to keep them, do it sooner rather than later. Stop throwing money away at T20 mercenaries.

Spot on Phil, it was always going to be a draw. Not a good wicket for a competitive first class match. It was still disappointing, however that despite the extenuating circumstances we didn't put up a better display with the ball. As the majority of posters have concluded, our bowling attack even with those missing desperately needs strengthening. I am not sure which is the bigger conundrum 🤔. If Rawlins had run out Ackerman on 71, would they have got as many as they did? Or, if they hadn't declared, how many more would they have got and would we have taken another wicket? Two tough games coming up. We will do well to finish higher than seventh or get another win from our remaining fixtures without Robinson and/or strengthening our bowling unit. The irony, Jack Brooks stint with us got him back into the Somerset Championship side.
